BB on whether he thinks he would have the same success without Brady: "Of course not"

Bledsoe was out 8 weeks and nearly died.

No way he returns to play for Bill with the team sitting at 1-9 or 3-7 at best
You are arguing that the guy who *****ed and moaned that it was his job as soon as he was ready, would have sat out willingly? Arguments like these are why people don’t get taken seriously.

Bill is and always has been an AH. Up to that point he had no success and if Bledsoe was watching the team continue to fail it's very possible his mindset might have been different.

He wanted back on the field when the team looked good and was making a strong push to be in the playoffs.

It's possible he returns in week 9 or 10 but at that point the Pats are out of the playoffs and Bill is out of a job.

No way Bill survives after back to back losing seasons when Pete Carroll was let go after making it to the playoffs 2 out of 3 years and going 8-8 was his worse season

It took the perfect set of circumstances for Bill and Brady to happen and it was the greatest run ever in NFL history

This is where we use your mutant powers to peer into alternate universes? Luckily we'll never have to know, he drafted Brady.

Bledsoe also returned midseason, that team also won more than it lost due to a strong run game and defense. Do they win a ring without Tom, no... but they probably win enough where Bill doesn't get fired. Either way... Bill drafted and developed Tom.
You are the one who started the hypotheticals by stating Brady would have been obscure and not known had he not gone to the Patriots.

I've only looked at realistic scenarios to counter your points

Anytime you miss the playoffs it's not a successful season.

They had a winning record yes, but it's not successful.

Matt Cassell was a decent QB, made it to the playoffs with Todd Hailey at HC.

It's a shame they missed the playoffs though, it was a great team and Cassell was looking good at the end of the season. They had a real chance to make a deep run.

Of course if Brady didn't get hurt that team most likely wins another superbowl

The poster said Bill couldn't win without an elite QB. He was wrong. Bill won in 2008 with an average QB.

Yeah an 11-5 record is typically a record that results in the playoffs.

The 01 Pats were 11-5 when they won the Superbowl

I don't consider a season where you don't make the playoffs as much of a success........... regardless of the 11-5 W/L ratio. The Giants were 9-7 in 2011 and that was a successful season............. since they won the Championship.

Best you can say is with Bill they didn’t fall off the cliff that year without Brady like the Colts did after they lost manning. But it’s a stretch to call it a “success”. They missed the playoffs.

Well it’s clear that these play calls from the coaching staff were and would be very different if Brady was here.

If they’re too scared to take the reins off after Mac just shoved Diggs pick 6 right up his ass then maybe Cam should have stuck around after all.

Belichick today would have told Brady in SB36 to hand off a few times and play for overtime like Madden told them to.

Jets
Chargers
Panthers

Patriots should be able to go 3-0 in this stretch, and head into the Cleveland game at 5-4. Here's the chance for BB to start making the name for himself, post-Brady.

I’d feel better about the LA game if it was at home but then again 0-4….

They lost 5 more games than the year before. Unless you go 16-0, thats bad. If you are a team and you win a number of games and the next year you lose 5 more than before, something went wrong. The pats played 4 playoff teams that year against a .386 schedule and lost 3 of the 4.

I think they mean win a superbowl...or hell make the playoffs. To put that year into perspective, if the pats were 12-4 in 2007 and lost 5 more games the next year they would have been 7-9....they were 16-0...and then didnt make the playoffs with a super team with a QB who lead the mediocre Chiefs to the playoffs.
