People often talked about how Pink Head was the master of changing the play before the snap and that he was "his own offensive coordinator." I think a lot of that came from all the histronics that he would go through before the snap. I've read though that most of those were for show and just to incite confusion, or to manage the clock a bit, or something. However it was successful for his image, since due to the amount of shouting Peyton would do, he is often regarded by the general public / media as being the best ever at understanding the defense before the snap (and significantly better than Brady).
I think that's unfortunate because I think the ability to read defenses is what makes Brady the GOAT and he doesn't get as much credit as Peyton, since he hasn't made that his schtick. He is a lot more subtle about it. He does it with little waves and nods to his receivers (who also have to be on the same page and see the same things). It's good to see videos like this and also read Steve Smith's comments.
