Atlanta mayor orders later bar closing times on Super Bowl Sunday

I can understand the excitement of wanting to have best parade and route planning and all of that. But signing and executive order to let the bars open late into the night ? SMDH

Of course it makes sense, you don't want people driving home while still having tears in their eyes.

You don't want bars kicking everyone out immediately after the game. That puts all the angry (or happy) drunk people on the streets at the same time with all kinds of energy and emotion, BAD IDEA. If you stay open until 2:30 AM, they'll leave gradually and less mayhem will ensue.

Atlanta citizens are so lucky to have you worrying about their best interests.

Personally I think there should be no regulations with bar hours. If you want to be open 24 hours, you should be able to.

The dumb thing I read after most championship games is the riots - win or lose.

If I were mayor, I'd ban rioters from attending a home game for life.
