Well Welker and who else? JA would solve a lot of the defenses problems single handedly imo and could be the missing piece to a SB. Plus we have 2 first next year right?

He'd be an excellent addition for the Patriots, who currently are stocked with CBS who can't stay healthy and/or can't cover, but he'd likely have to take a significant pay cut, and I don't seem him being particularly amenable to that.

Jared Allen is a more intriguing (i.e., productive) player at this stage of his career, yet the contract again an issue. He's on the books for $9.0 million for 2011 and $25.9 million combined for 2012 and 2013. I'd love to see him in the pass rush here but don't see how we could pay the freight.

When training camp is over, it usually is what you see in early August is what you get,aside from a few Jags later to add for depth.

I'm not going to pretend I know everything about contracts but couldn't we restructure or he takes a pay cut or something? Surely he'd take a pay cut to go from the 1-5 Vikings to the 5-1 Patriots with a realistic shot at winning a SB...right?
