Are you "almost" glad now that deflategate happened?

Lol see that Kontra? You're no better than I am. I didn't even dislike your post. A real forum elitist you are.

I'm glad we won and there's egg on the faces of people who deserve it but that's not the same as saying we're glad or even almost glad it happened in the first place.

Okay. By almost, I really mean almost. Of course no fan will ever bring themselves to be glad that that whole mess happened.

No. The story ruined the build-up to SB49 for fans and created a distraction for the team. The story hung over the entire offseason in 2015 and the 2015 season. This year, the lost a first round pick and Brady missed 4 games because of it. In the process, we learned about the corruption and favoritism that the league operates under. I really enjoyed the 2 SB wins and the trip to the AFCCG last year, but the whole episode has left me thinking something I never would have considered as recently as 3 years ago: If the NFL fails or loses significant popularity, I won't be upset.
That's more than fair. I'll never forgive them for all of this either, and it did ruin the celebration of something that took a long, long decade to accomplish.

Sure. I'll just say I'm glad the corruption and anti-Patriots agenda in the league was exposed and very glad the "good guys" won despite it all. I'm angry that it happened in the first place.

Now mind you, we all know how horrible all of this BS has been over the last two years. But man... Winning this 5th after all Brady, the Patriots, and this fanbase has been through just makes this so much sweeter.

It's like this win took care of everything. It's even feeling like Brady just won back the majority of the court of public opinion, something we thought would be impossible.

The whole deflategate saga was a nightmare at times that seemed to get nothing but worse and worse. Now mind you again I say almost, because none of it should have ever happened. But now it just feels like it was part of the journey.
The F#ck?

No. Dumbest thread since that "Trade Brady" thread I read earlier today.

Of course not.

This almost made me drop football and even winning #5 that's something still in the air.

Deflategate was bad for football. It showed the fans (the smart ones) that this league is corrupt and pick sides. It showed to the players that they are not respected and are just clowns putting on a show for a bunch of old owners make money.

You should have made this a poll and had NFW as an option. It would have won by a landslide.

Well...I see the point the OP is trying to make. Overall the answer is NO, there's been too much pain the past two years over this. I wish it never happened.

YET deflate gate really did amp up the storyline in an incredible way. Without deflate gate, yes it is remarkable, the fifth title. But the adversity they had to face this season w/Brady suspended, the continued arrogance of the league and Goodell, the questioning of Brady's legacy, the haters gleefully watching the Falcons jump out to a huge lead and the Patriots orchestrating the greatest comeback of all time, forcing Goodell to hand over the trophy while he was booed off the stage. There is no greater, sweeter story than that, which wouldn't be the same without the past two years of this crap. I feel like there isn't quite a story in sports history that could top this one. I've said it already, we could never one another under Brady I'd still be entirely satisfied because of this.

Andy I'm confused, what in my post leads to this response? I'm not saying I was glad it happened. I'm just glad that this was the outcome from it all.

BINGO. We have a bingo, folks. Thank you.

Why? Because you're illiterate and only read thread titles so you can go in and make an overreaction response in order to get likes?

Too bad you can't dislike a post more than once to get the rest of your tantrum out, huh.

Your personal attacks are not an argument. You want to argue that it was better for Deflategate to happen than not, come at me with some arguments not insult. If you can't that's fine.

Despite the understandable attempt by the O.P. to make a nuanced argument in a moment of philosophical review, those are the correct answers.

Coming from the guy who made a point to dislike every single one of my posts. That wasn't personal?

If you want to have an argument, as you can see above I'm willing to. But if you're going to throw a tantrum like a 5 year old, I don't have time for it.

I can live with that. Guarantee you with a better worded thread title I don't get this response. My mistake I suppose.
