Are the WRs actually getting open?

It's 4:35 to go in the 2nd quarter, ball on the 24 yard line

That’s not the playing was originally referring to. On that one he was scrambling out and threw to Henry.

This okay is a bad throw, influence by the pass rusher.

His toughness may be his best asset.
Agree he is a tough player. I still think mayo sees what the passing looks like this upcoming game and the next... if it's still non existence I think a change is imminent.

Explain how “hubris” enters into it?

Hubris, incompetence, or - in my opinion - Both, Billy & his bumbling, thanks-dad lackeys (at least one of whom is unfortunately still in the building) “accomplished “ the following:
2017 - Boney Tony Garcia;
2018 - drafted a Guard masquerading as an OT in the first round;
2019 - Overdrafted by Multiple rounds an unremarkable Dane - Mr Frodo - who’s miraculously somehow still in the league, and in the round immediately preceding took Yawndy Cachoo, an IR warrior who also was over-drafted by Two rounds;
2020 - Mike Onwenu (FINALLY somebody who doesn’t Totally Suck) and Two More piles of junk;
2021 - Willie my boy Sherman instead of Trey Smith. ‘Nuff ced.

2022 - Strange69… TWO… Full… Rounds. Chasin’ ‘Hinds & Stubby add insult to injury;

2023 - Jake the As Predicted, You’re Welcome, Latest Fake instead of Dawand Jones & the horrible blob Fat Tony Mafia;

And let’s not forget Billy letting Skippy take coaches without him having to give them promotions… He also allowed another to leave for non-football issues, then in the ultimate act of hubris hired two justifiably-terminated former lackeys who had only for the briefest of moments ever coached offense; the results were predictably seen from miles away…

I don’t think I’ve seen any rb run for 120 on 25 carries when the average first contact is -1.5
To provide context, any contact counts if the CB puts and arm on him that starts the contact. Against Cinncy there were several runs that he was one on one with a CB that was grasping at straws.

Yeah that literally is the definition of wide open in the NFL, period. Especially on a short route like a crosser. Polk has a full step on his man and that's as open as you're going to get in the NFL outside of busted coverage.

Ya, and if you rewind this a bit, the Defender doesn't get on him before he can see this developing . He could have laid it out in front in that mile of green grass with very little risk - but major reward - should've been a TD.
But this is what JB can't do well. I also mentioned the WIDE open Hooper down the seam for a would-be TD that JB just never saw before scrambling to throw away.

I do too. It makes me a little nervous, but it has to happen at some point.

And?

Then post a clip so we can discuss it.
I posted screenshots of that play in this thread where Polk was open and brissett not pressured and able to throw

PFF Separation %

Douglas 69.5%
Polk 60.8%
Thornton 58.8%

Pats have 3 of the top 34 WR per PFF in Separation % So there is multiple data places saying Pats WR have been open

Fairly damning on our QB/OL here. We've been wanting WRs with separation for years. Now that we have it, they can't get the ball.
