Are the Pats physical enough or is my wife right?

Rule #1. Your wife is always right.
Rule #2. Even when your wife is wrong, she's right.
Rule #3. Wives are not allowed to talk during football games.

Sorry, but rule #3 only applies during Pats games..

JHC, another thread today taken over by------ I can't say it. 2 people have been kicked off and one given major infractions.

Use the IGNORE FEATURE!!!!

I don't like our defense at all, its absolutely pathetic. That being said, every team in the league has flaws, even more so in the AFC. The best thing we have going for us is Brady and Belichick (shocker), so the simple fact is we can't be counted out of any game which makes me optimistic. I don't think we'll be able to beat a New Orleans or Green Bay, but we'll definitely be in it to the end. Basically what I'm saying is we're not perfect but we've got as good or better a shot as any other team to win the whole thing this year.

If I remember correctly...and I do....the Raiders commented that the Pats were a "finesse" team and the Raiders were going to hammer the Pats at Oakland earlier this year.

How'd that turn out?

And the Pats did beat them up physically.

How tough was the Jet D last Sunday or the big bad Raven in SD. THis team is plenty tough enough. The question will be if they are healthy enough

We physical, they finesse.

LOL. That old quote is the perfect answer. He should have said that to his wife last night.

Our defense looked like it didn't want to tackle in the first quarter of the Denver game. They got better after that, but didn't really show me a physicality that pops out. I don't think they are physical enough, that might be because our safeties are injured or suck, they are the ones with the bone jarring hits.

Mayo played fairly physical. He definitely stepped up his game.

Patriots defense is bad, we have to accept it and hope Brady and Belichick can pull it off.

Uh, wouldn't your wife need to spend some, um, 'face time' with the Pats to know if they're physical enough?

Hey, I didn't title this thread....

Hey, I didn't title this thread....

I would guess your husband would like some face time as well. I'm willing to bet being Brady'sButtBoy is all you want to handle lol.

on offense, a passing team is by nature more finesse because the OL defends the QB rather than being the aggressors that it takes to be a more effective running team. The OL is not a bunch of maulers, but it is athletic (relatively speaking, the most athletic unit on the team save the TE's).

the defense is not very athletic at all.......players have shown moments of physicality (I think the most physical moment of the season was Love flattening the chiefs OL), but generally speaking, it is not very physical. not by 2011 standards and even less by previous patriot standards. not nearly as many opposing offensive players get injured now as opposed to years past.

the only guy who plays more physical than average who is not injured on a regular basis is wilfork.....the rest of the pats more physical defenders (spikes, mayo, chung) spend alot of time in the trainers room

Your wife is right about everything

Your wife is always right*

*Unless it's about football.

3 of the last 5 winners (Packers, Saints, Colts) have been "finesse" offenses.

Either your wife is right....OR...your wife hits you with a blindside right...pick your poison, bud...

The same does not apply on offense, however. I confess that the Pats tend to focus on linemen whose specialty is not mauling DL so much as it is running quickly to where they can find an LB and then mauling him. Even so, between Mankins, Gronk, and good blocking from the rest of the receivers, it's a much more physical offense than people sometimes think.

the pats OL is very athletic......but they are not a group of maulers. 3 of the guys on the OL ran a sub 5.0/40 in the combines

We had a conference call about this thread and we're not exactly sure what your wife means. We're all coming over to your house and would like her to show us what it means to be "physical enough."
