No way Cassell is good enough to be traded to start on any football team right now.
Unfortunately the only real way he would be a decent trade would be the unfortunate situation where Brady went down for a month or longer and Cassell went in and did the job Otherwise I see no chance of any trade happening.
That would be as stupid as with what happened in the Matt Shaub trade which may qualify for most stupid trade in 2007 by the Texans and Smartest by the Falcons.
Has anyone taken note of the QB situation around
the Nfl?.....After you get past about 10 really good
Qb's,you have what?......System Qb's and mediocrity.
Is Cassell a stiff because he was behind 2 great Qb's in college?....Was Kurt Warner because he played in the Arena League?
Damon Huard....because he was the backup,behind a 6th round draft choice(Brady)?
Cassell is no stiff,my friend....neither is Matt Schaub or Josh McCown, who the Raiders are also
considering.
Why?....you ask?.....Let me clear this up for you:
J Russell or Brady Quinn=50M investment(6 yrs)
Josh McCown or Matt Cassell=10M(5yrs)
Plus,you can have Calvin Johnson,Adrian Peterson,Leron Landry....etc,etc.
To be a great GM in the NFL is not all about what
you READ.....but about the potential that you SEE
Tom Brady and Kurt Warner are prime examples.
