Let's face it, Gronk is very injury prone and Martellus alone is not gonna do it, we need another solid Tight end, are there are good prospects in this upcoming years draft?

O.J. Howard from Alabama is probably the most complete TE in the draft. 6'6', 245 lbs. Can block and catch. Then there are Evan Engram(Ole Miss), Jordan Leggett( Clemson) and Jake Butt(Michigan). While Engram is more of a bigger WR to me at 6'3', 227 lbs, while the others are more the conventional types of TE.

Howard 6'5/245 is a very complete player who was underutilized at Bama big time. Big kid with a huge catch radius. Looks like big wr after the catch. Very good blocker.

Butt 6'6/250 is another versatile guy but needs some work blocking inline. I like the subtlety of his game. Slight head, shoulder fakes and using his weight to lean into a defender to break away at the top of his route. He'll go up and get some 50/50's.

Jeremy Sprinkle 6'6/255 really improved on his blocking and is a huge kid. Not gifted athletically but he can use his body a lil bit and had more TD's than Hunter Henry last year. He needs some work but theres some potential there.

Gerald Everett 6'4/240 is a guy that people either love or hate. Not the biggest kid but good athleticism. Powerful strider w/ nice acceleration. He's not a trained killer as Mayock would say but he's not afraid either and very willing.

Jordan Leggett 6'4/245 has to get better blocking but does lot of things pretty well. Def has to show more "want to" bloxking. Nice size, body control and can make adjustments. Quiet/soft hands. Hes not "huge" but can add a few lbs and def get stronger.

David Njoku is a guy you'll hear a lot of a month or so. 6'4/245 and ripped up, under 10% body fat. Former high jumper in high school (6ft 11) and said he'll run a sub 4.60 40. Hes a blend of a lot NFL traits. Yac, seem killer and a big body he knows how to use.

Jonnu Smith 6'3/235 is undersized and more of a pass catcher only at this stage. He has some real potential. You can move him around. Was also doused w/ boiling water by his girlfriend months ago. Suffered severe burns on his head, neck, shoulders and his arm.

Mike Gesicki is a huge kid 6'6/255 that can go up and get ball. Just a pass catcher rn but can sky for the ball. Good chance he stays for another year and should do so.

Bucky Hodges 6'7/240 is another huge guy that is a match up problem but offers no blocking really.

Cole Hikutini is a rec TE that def needs work blocking. 6'5/250. Very nice athleticism.

I'm one of Evan Engram's biggest fans not related to him. Had a lil man crush for 2 years now. One of fav prospects by far. He's a wr in the NFL imho. He'll drop down to 220-225 and show what he can at the combine.
If I'm a GM/Coach I'm moving him around (slot, h-back, TE, spilt end) and keeping him away from the mess around the los.

6'3/235 Very nice proportional thick body from calves to shoulders. Big hands and long arms.

Great kid, very good/willing blocker on all levels but particularly great stalk blocker. He'll build a nice base and sets his feet. Great intensity and timing w/ cut blocks. Around the los he reminds me Hines Ward.

Away from it, 15-25 yards down field he reminds of Aaron Hernandez. Hes a seem killer and can use his body to box out defenders. He has the hops to sky for a ball and make a circus catch and the hips to explode out of his breaks/cuts.

I love the way his head, hips and feet are always balanced and in sync. Very smooth and flexible.

After a few lean years, this is supposed to be a good year. I hope we take advantage and
draft one early.

Though not as devastating to a team that lacks one, TE is like QB in that there just are not that many good ones in the NFL*.

Gronk is very injury prone

No he isn't.

Bob Sanders was very injury prone, Out of 128 possible regular season games Sanders only played in 50. That's very injury prone

Gronk has played in 88 out of 111 regular season games and including the playoffs Gronk is at 97 played out of 124

You just can't rely on Gronk to be available all 16 games + playoffs. This is why we need another prospect.

I am on the engram bandwagon. TE might be a need.
