In today's NFL, the importance of covering the slot is far greater than it used to be. Like I said (and you so wonderfully ignored), how smart would it be to cover Welker with your third best corner? Not smart at all, I would say. And the way Cruz was playing coming into that game, lining up against him isn't going to cover up anyone's "weaknesses".
Come on, give me a break. Most teams, if not all, try to match up their two best CB's with the outside speedy receivers and hope that the corners can stay with them long enough until safety help comes across. It would be very unusual for any NFL coach to use one of his best corners inside and leave the outside vulnerable to long fly or post patterns.

That is not entirely accurate. Crusade? Possibly yes. Why? because as a Pats fan I believe that Arrington's presence on the field is a detriment to the overall success of the defense, and the team as a whole.
Should I be chastized for that? Absolutely not. In fact, the majority of my negative comments about Arrington have been in direct response to other posts where his name was mentioned.
Chould I be criticized for having an opinion, albeit a different one from, allegedly the majority, but still a personal opinion?
Why is it, because I am a new poster and not a member of the clique, or the group, or whatever you want to call them.
Being a long time poster makes them no better, or worse, than me. We are all fans, with different opinions, but none the less, we root for the same team and wish for the same outcome.
So what if opinions are different. Without them there would be no need for this forum, or any others.
Now, give me a few moments and I will see if there is another player that I can be critical of. Oh wait, I have been beaten to that by many other posters in this forum, from what I have read now and then.
So, why is my criticism any different? Oh yeah, I forgot, I am new. I havent paid my dues.
Good lord... ok, I'm done. Good luck with that generalization.
I am sure there were some times when Arrington's plays made you happy this year.
Not really!!!! I was happy that he made the interceptions that he did but too much praise was heaped upon him as five of the seven were the type that anyone with decent hands, maybe even you, could have made. He has a decent ability to move well with the ball though, once he makes the INT. But, that it not important as his weak cover skills are.
BTW, there were times when I thought he would be the right guy for a corner blitz but they rarely used him in that way. I think he had a knack for it.
If you feel that he could/should be upgraded, then fine, but understand that being extremely one-sided is going to bring you lots of attention and comments at the same time. If Arrington gets upgraded this year by a better player, that would be a very good thing b/c it means our CB depth has improved tremendously.
He's far more qualified than you are or ever will be.
Do you have an aversion to facts?
Are you sure about that????
Yes. He is a HC of a NFL Team and you are some message board troll.
And, the rest of your post is taken and appreciated.
Then he and I must have had a handshake or two a few times at midfield. I felt bad for him too because every time I had to say, "but your guys played well and maybe some day you will be the smiling one"

Did you REALLY just claim to be an NFL coach?
Just giving you some advice buddy, take what you want from it. Before this thread I didn't notice any major alerts that would have made me believe that you were an ********* or a troll etc, we actually had a few comments back and forth that seemed fine to me.
Hopefully you got all of your anti-Arrington hate out in this thread, and we can all go back to being thankful that Molden is now on another team
You are correct, I am not a troll. Just another Pats fan, like most people in here that have opinions of their own. Mine just in some cases happen to be different than the clique that seems to think they own this place because they have been here for a long time.
Well, they can keep thinking that if they want to but I will continue posting my opinions on matters pertaining to the team that I love and if some of those opinions rub them the wrong way, then tough crapola.
That is how it is and how it will be.
If they prefer to turn discussion into personal agendas, then it speaks much less of their ability to conduct two way discussion. There was a political organization in Europe about 75 years ago that operated the same way. How'd that work out?
And yes you and I had some good conversation as I have had with some of the other "less fortunates" in here. But life always has its little ups and downs, especially if one is an elevator operator.
No it doesn't. Anyone who watched the Patriots and thinks Antwaun Molden is a better corner than Kyle Arrington cannot have any clue how to analyze what they are seeing. Is my analysis awful, in your mind, because it is the opposite of your analysis? Or could it be that your analysis is awful because it is the opposite of mine? Works both ways, doesn't it?
You have a real problem of repeating the same thing over and over and ignoring responses. Post count has nothing to do with it. Look at my comment above. That has everything to do with it.Does the fact that you have been here, in this forum, for ages, make your analysis any better than mine? You are far from being infallible, as am I.
My feathers are anything but ruffled. I tried to enter the discussion and give you some friendly advice. As I have said again, if you want to express the opinion that Moulden is better than Arrignton and make stuff up to support it (like Arrignton was benched when he wasn't or that his ints were plays he was beaten and the throw was 10 yards off target) you can do so, but you will have no credibility at all, as you are now learning. Blaming your lack of credibility ona fabricated idea that you are treated differently because you are new only reduces that credibility even more.Is it possible that being upstaged by a newbie ruffles your feathers a bit?
September? What does that have to do with anything?Andy, fact is, both of us have "unqualified" opinions on this particular player. I am sure that come September we will know which opinion is closer to fact.
If you do research only looking for facts to support your claim and opinion, it is most likely that is all you will find; that makes the research somewhat untrustworthy. Why not instead go in with an unbiased view and an open mind? That will make the results much more valid and objective. If you or anyone else takes the time to make a list of all the plays that (fill in the blank) did not perform to whatever standard you hold, it stands to reason that is all you will see. However it makes that list useless since there is no equal comparison with his peers. And, I am sure that you, and others, will be mesmerized by the results that will prove that I am right.
There is going to be a certain segment that will react that way whether you're a new employee, the new kid in school, or a new member of a message board. The reaction in any of those scenarios is going to increase when that person takes a very strong opinion on a subject that others may not agree with. However, based on the responses I have gotten, and reading the many, many other posts in this forum by the "I am always right" crowd, I doubt anyone will acknowledge it.
Similar to the response above, that should not be a surprise. The pity of it all, however, is that those that have an opposing view on an issue, and who, allegedly are long time members here, have a belief that being a long time member makes them more knowledgeable than say a newer member with far fewer posts.
This could be true. But the same could be done by reading said forum and not posting a comment. My question would be why would an executive with the Pats would be concerned with what some of their fans felt about the Giants signing Antwaun Molden? Since when does the team make personnel moves based on what the fans think? How do they know whether I, or anyone else in this or any other forum isnt a present day, or past day, NFL coach, or player or team owner or executive just trying to get a feel for what the fans think?
You know, it has been done, like on TV's "Undercover Boss."
Or, maybe I am Arrington himself. Could be, right?
