DL Landon Cohen released.

Knew it was coming? Kinda sad though..... I like him. I think he is one guy that could get picked up somewhere and really do some good things. He'll be in the NFL somewhere this year. Book that.

Ian, not sure if you're reading the thread - is it an idea to turn on the Live Topic feature for this thread?

Sad to see Cohen cut, but like most of us I knew it was coming. The day I went to camp this year he was the first one out trying to get some extra work in. I like the development that I've seen. Hopefully he lands on someone's 53.

Landon Cohen's out... that's a bummer, not a surprise but I thought he was great this preseason.

Does anyone know if these guys are cut all at once and the news slowly trickles out or are they all cut separately?

current:

80 Marcus Cannon (PUP)
79 Buddy Farnham (PS eligible)
78 Richard Medlin (PS eligible)
77 Jonathan Compas (PS eligible)
76 Ricky Brown
75 Darryl Richard (PS eligible)
74 Carson Butler (PS eligible)
73 Corey Woods (PS eligible)
72 Michael Berry (PS eligible)
71 Markell Carter (PS eligible)

Who gets the ax...Yeatman or Smith?

Or does Smith go IR ? From the play so far, Yeatman has the edge IMHO.....

He will. I thought he'd might get the Pats a late-round pick. Guess not.

Re: Eric Moore released.

Well, I have to confess that i'm not at all shocked......

....at the reactions of various Patriots fans!

You'd think that they'd be happy that the 4-3 DE/3-4OLB situation was looking healthy enough to cut a guy who contributed a decent amount last year....but no....more whining and second guessing about the guys Belichick HAS decided to go with.

A big fat LOL.

I'm not seeing the whining part. They let go of a decent player and some people are suprised or dissapointed because they like the way the guy played and wanted him to be part of this years team? I don't think there is too many that are suprised that Cunningham and Anderson made the team and most knew there would be someone odd man out. You would of found the same reactions if Anderson was cut in Moore's place. Too bad we couldnt of kept him is the reaction I'm seeing here.

Re: Eric Moore released.

in rewatching the first half of the giants game - i thought moore looked ok on some and really bad on several occasions - so this doesnt surprise me honestly

I cant find it, but it would be cool if someone took that format someone posted here to pick the 53, and used it to post everyone still left

Question: How long does it take for players to clear waivers before they can be added to the PS? Just wondering if Belichick is releasing players strategically so they'll go under radar (while all the other teams are busy) so that they can be stashed to PS.

Perrish Cox cut by the Broncos. The kid is a bit of a knucklehead, but very very talented.

My wife was yelling his name at me last night.

News travels as fast as the Turk travels.

Good question. My belief is that they are individually called by the resident assasin to come in and bring in their playbook. Depending on the player, I'm sure BB and the respective position coach meets with each player and gives them the proper respect and whatever reasoning they give for the cut.

The kid then gets shuttled to HR to fill out the appropriate paperwork and that gets filed with the league office and players association. My assumption that is when it hits the league wire. I'm certain guys like Rappaport and Reiss have mules that feed the info to them real-time...

In summary, it's all done one at a time based on the availability of the coaches and the admins.

Players can be signed to the Practice Squad at noon tomorrow. It feels like he's simply making the easiest cuts first and is still making decisions on the rest.

Re: Eric Moore released.

Sorry to heat that, this is tough DL to stick on. Hopefully he will be picked up.

Cohen will be someone's gain real soon.
Never knew why people were so high on him. I always saw him as a guy who we got because we had so many injuries, and now was just camp fodder
