Was expected as he looked fairly lost during the preseason. Is an intriguing prospect however who might show something with a year on the PS.

No Butler didn't have a good preseason, he had numerous passes completed against the man he was covering (the Jacksonville game was especially bad). He makes the team gets one more year to improve, but he didn't play well. Hopefully Arrington and Bodden are healthy and he doesn't play much.

By the way CBs making a lot of tackles isn't considered a good thing.

Butler had a fine preseason.

Point is Butler has not played well.

Besides it's hard for me to take you seriously when after the first preseason game you chimed in and defended Butler's play even before you had a chance to watch the game.

You blindly defended the guy which is basically your schtick.

It all comes down to how realistic the person is making the judgment.
A typical WR is going to catch about 5 passes a game. Therefore a typical corner will allow about that. To suck you need to allow more, or worse (ie longer) receptions. Some on this board will call a corner (if its one they have prejudged as bad) awful if he allows 1 or 2 catches, in front of him, because they need to support the opinion they have been spewing.
Some posters actually said Butler sucked in the 2nd half of the Jax game when the other team completed 2 passes in a half. Clearly there are people who have trashed Butler and feel the need to exxaggerate everything they see in order to support their prior comments.
Butler has had a pretty good preseason. He hasn't played well enough to earn a starting job back, but he certainly has played well enough to make the team, and to have BB confident in putting him on the field.
A 4th corner playing at the level Butler did this year is a real good 4th corner. A starter playing at that level is cause for some concern.
