Hernandez was worth a fourth round pick on his production to date alone, even if he never plays another down for the Pats.

Thats debatable especially when you only get 3 years out of him and when your upcoming plans partially revolved around him. How many years is he going forward is he going to be a detriment to this team not only by his absence but the circus that will surround him and the team?
You could have had a productive 4th rounder play for 10-15 years with no incident.
And I'm not disagreeing with you about taking a chance on a player of his talent in the 4th round. I'm just saying your gambling with the brand and the team by taking on a low character player.The chances of getting what you have today is wgat you get. And it ain't good for a long while.
