An urgent PSA from Gronk:

I saw that early in the weekend, then spent the rest of it doing stuff like...

"Dad, can I play XBox?"

(Pointing to Legos all over the floor) "No No No No No!" :fingerwag:

Regards,
Chris

DISCLAIMER- Don't try this at home....

With Plastic bags that have "this is not a toy" and freshness packs that say "do not eat" people suing because the coffee they bought burned them. I really think that the average intelligent of people is dropping like a rock. Soon we will be a race of morons lead by out smart phones and fed by McDonald's. Oh wait...

The woman suing McDonalds actually had merit. Because coffee should not be hot enough to cause second and third degree burns. I mean a little scorch mark is just the price you pay for being a fumble-fingers, but she had to go to the hospital. "Caution: hot" is actually more pathetic than what the woman did.

That was an example of corporations doing the absolute minimum they had to to cover their behind after someone got seriously hurt from their practices. "Caution: can cause serious burns and nerve damage if spilled" might be a more accurate and useful warning.

Anyone that needs to be warned that hot, fresh coffee might cause severe burns is too stupid to function in society. Don’t blame McDonald’s for serving a product people want.

I’m sick of corporations paying millions of dollars because people are too stupid to know that you don’t eat laundry detergent and coffee is hot.

Stupid has always existed. It just more publicized due to social/media coverage of outlandish or extreme behavior That and medical advances have allowed potential darwin award winners to survive and multiply.
I think most people who post videos are only pretending to eat them. Whoring a bunch of attention is still at the core of all this though. I'm sure it's caused some people to fall for it it & actually taste them.

I agree on a whole but the McDonald coffee incident was worthy of a lawsuit. It wasn't just hot coffee rather it was ridiculously hot coffee capable of causing third degree burns across a large portion of her legs. It was also served at a temperature that had received numerous (thousands) of burn complaints.

I’ve actually seen that video and it does nothing to change my mind. She was stupid to do what she did. I’m not saying she deserved to get burned but it sure as hell wasn’t McDonald’s fault.

I drink coffee and I like it hot. Too bad so many people are too stupid not to realize that hot beverages burn.

Society’s morons are all too often the reason why the rest of us can’t have nice stuff.

On the bigger picture I agree. In the McDonald's case I don't think McDonalds was without fault.

I'll add this:
McDonald's Coffee at the time of that lawsuit was required to be by their standards: 180-190 F. That has not changed.

Specialty Coffee Association of America and the National Coffee Association recommend the optimal temperature for brewing a great cup of coffee is 197.6 – 204.8 F. So a fresh cup will be about the same.

Consumer reports tests that home coffee makers brew from 197 to 205 F. Any decent coffee maker does.

There is nothing remarkable about that coffee temperature then or now.

Trying to figure out why this thread was so intriguing and why I read every response....

Don't eat the pods dumb-asses..

I was in the grocery store last night. There were so many different varieties of Tide pods that I couldn't begin to figure out which one would taste best. So I passed.

Telvin Smith just feeling the disrespect.
"I mean to you he's saying don't eat the pods. but i know he's thinking superbowl"
DISRESPECT

He may have a point.

The difference between J and P is 6 letters of the alphabet.
A to O = 14
G to D = 3

Those add up to 23.

Multiply 23 by 3 (this will be the Jags' 3rd playoff game), and you get ..... 69!

Clearly a coded reference to Gronk's expected dominance.
