So where does this QB come from in 3 years?BPA every round for 2 years. This is a rebuild. Not a reload. Then, I’ll worry about QB.
Bedard has absolutely taken an anti-Mayo position. I assume the Pats are flushing out the remaining rats in the building. What a ****ed up situation Bill left. He was 100% the #1 problem. Good riddance.
That it your issue. Can you stop calling him Mac? I think some dude with Downs Syndrome was named Mac 30-40 years ago.
His HS coach called him 'Sunshine.'That it your issue.
Mac is a perfectly good nickname.
No one wants to hear it. They want to fire the Offense, and sign the QB who will get us into the SB in a couple of years. It sounds like big changes to the offense are coming and that takes time to hammer out and get everyone on the same page.
I still believe that Kraft wont abandon Corky like this. Anything that happened post Germany 2023 does not count. So, you're looking at a Corky Mac Jones body of work encompassing 10 games in 2023.
5 point loss to Philly
7 point loss to Miami
5 point win vs NY
35 point loss to Dallas
34 point loss to New Orleans
4 point loss to Las Vegas
4 point win vs Buffalo
14 point loss to Miami
4 point loss to Washington
4 point loss to Indianapolis
5 losses by less than a TD. So, ask yourself, does a WR like a Marv Harrison Jr move the needle and put points on the scoreboard? There is your # 3 pick if he is still there.
McDaniels is not a bad option at all...but if you're him and getting paid $10M of Al Davis's $ to sit on your ass, why would you want to reinsert yourself into the burgeoning circus that is One Patriot Place....He also suggested that some of the people interviewed have since said they're not interested. Not good to hear. Apparently the pressure is ramping up and if an OC isn't set by next week, it's a big problem. They need to know what KIND of offensive system they're running to guide where the QB search goes and who else to target for offensive assistants.
At this point I think they should consider going back to McDaniels if he's interested. He has institutional knowledge and experience developing young quarterbacks.
as a favor to Robert Kraft?McDaniels is not a bad option at all...but if you're him and getting paid $10M of Al Davis's $ to sit on your ass, why would you want to reinsert yourself into the burgeoning circus that is One Patriot Place....
Bedard is the guy who reported a source saying that Mayo was rubbing people the wrong way, which Mayo himself responded to. He has also been putting out more skeptical content on Mayo’s capability to take over than most others who seem to be unsure what to make of him. Part of that is likely just Bedard’s analysis but I would hazard a guess that part of it is based on his sources that have been at the root of the negative takes on Mayo. It certainly feels like Bedard is being used as an outlet for a Bill loyalist or someone who was passed over or wronged in some way by Mayo. What gave you the impression an "anti-Mayo" source has Bedard's ear? Bedard has seemed pretty objective about all this so far, IMO. You've got to figure the road will be plenty bumpy with the front office so unsettled and a rookie head coach possessing little leagewide experience. That's why someone like McDaniels could be a stabilizing influence, I'd assume he has a rolodex full of offensive assistant prospects.
I'm pulling for Mayo and willing to ride with this thing, but the likes of Vrabel would have hit the ground running and been further ahead immediately. I fear you're right, re. Kraft tossing these guys a set of keys and telling them to figure it out. I mean, apparently Groh and Wolfe have been advising Mayo who to interview for OC. Seems they're flying by the seat of their pants with the clock ticking.

At the end of the day I don’t actually know, it’s speculation and guess work based on what we’ve already heard.

Instead of analytics, the new front office should use Cam Newton's nicknames to choose the next QB. LOLHis HS coach called him 'Sunshine.'
His ALA coach called him 'McEnroe.'
His ALA teammates called him 'The Joker.'
Cam called him 'Mac n Cheese.'
I recommend Pats FO start looking into players nicknames more seriously in the future. They say a lot about how a person is perceived by others. All of those nicknames are telling, and not a good story of a future leader of men.
Maybe yes and maybe no.No one wants to hear it. They want to fire the Offense, and sign the QB who will get us into the SB in a couple of years.
IMO, if Josh hadn't left, we would have been in the playoffs for all of the past three years.
And, now, we don't know where we are for a couple of weeks.
GM Bob Kraft is here and he will draft weapons instead of defense.=================
If Josh and Caley are here, it is almost 100% that Mac stays. Of course, we would likely still take one of the top 2, but feel much better about trading down for our LT.

I don't follow Bedard. His takes are sort of interesting, but I just can't wade through Cattle's interminable drivel to get to Bedard's thoughts, and I ain't gonna pay to get through that paywall to get to what is presumably the "good stuff." As for Bill, yep, he should have been fired a couple of years ago, though even now his fanboys will offer up a ration of **** to anyone taking note of that fact. I know this from personal experience. So it goes.Bedard has absolutely taken an anti-Mayo position. I assume the Pats are flushing out the remaining rats in the building. What a ****ed up situation Bill left. He was 100% the #1 problem. Interesting to see everyone that called Bedard a scumbag now believing everything he spews is godspell. Lol
Maybe yes and maybe no.
There is still the issue of Corkys weak arm. He needs weapons to make him look good.

On a few occasions, when McDaniels was the OC, BB over-road them.. To his detriment every time. Bill clearly has a blindspot for Josh's lack of scouting ability of offensive players.
The Pats have the best, or almost the best, cap situation in the NFL. That is an ideal position from which to rebuild. The Pats have the 3rd pick in the draft. Again an ideal spot to rebuild. Nothing else matters in a rebuild. Being a drama queen and getting all caught up in the "office politics" i
They have the cap room to spend and say they are ready to spend... but will they... that's my concern. We'll see. I hope my concern is unfounded. The Pats have the best, or almost the best, cap situation in the NFL. That is an ideal position from which to rebuild. The Pats have the 3rd pick in the draft. Again an ideal spot to rebuild. Nothing else matters in a rebuild. Being a drama queen and getting all caught up in the "office politics" is weak.
