He's visiting the Steelers. Per Schefty.

Son of a *****.

Belichick needs to force his hand..... bring in Zach Brown for a visit and leak how much they're willing to offer him. If Hightower doesn't accept an offer at that point, then he simply doesn't want to be here.

He was going to be drafted by the steelers before BB traded up...

He couldn't have done this stuff 4 days ago? ************

BB won't put up with this much longer
It's getting tiring. He either wants to be here or he doesn't. If he doesn't, which appears likely, there's others who will take our money. I hope he returns but between the parade and the Collins comments at the Super Bowl he's clearly not happy. Thankfully he didn't take that unhappiness onto the field.

Nor should he have to
I would say end of today should be the deadline..or else its time to move on
HT is really playing the Patriots now...and I hope BB says enough is enough...

He is a very good player, but its NOT like he is an all time great

Time to move on after steeler's get a chance to give him an offer at that time, hopefully later today tonight tother he resigns or else I hope the Patriots move on.

If I'm BB I am giving him until tonight. It's been a whole week including the tampering period

Don't be so dramatic. Pats offered him $10m and no team is interested in paying more than that this is all about getting a team to offer a deal so the Pats raise their offer. If Hightower didn't want to be here Pats would have known a week ago.

Maybe he'll return. But if you can't detect the childish, passive aggressive behavior going on here . . . (talking about the other stuff not visiting other teams).

Let's be honest, I'm getting the vibe he wants any excuse not to stay here.

I'm getting the vibe that a professional athlete is a free agent for the first time and is exploring all of his options because he's making the biggest decision of his life.

Isn't it weird that Hightower is putting more importance on "what decision is best for me and the rest of my life?" rather than "uh oh, I'm inconveniencing fans by taking my time, I better hurry up and sign so that they aren't concerned anymore!"

Wow, his priorities are so out of whack!

I do think this take could be plausible, that DH is getting less than what he hoped for here right now, and is going around trying to see if he can get what he expected anywhere else.

I would just move on from HT at this point. If he wanted to be here he would have signed here.

Belichick responds in kind through Lombardi

He would already know what each team is offering money wise there has been plenty of time to gauge his market. He knows the Pats aren't going to up their offer they would have done so.

It's time to move on and go with the back up plan.

No need to move on at this point. Hightower is gonna set the market for all FA LBs. Let him take his visits and decide on his future.
