Don't be so dramatic. Pats offered him $10m and no team is interested in paying more than that this is all about getting a team to offer a deal so the Pats raise their offer. If Hightower didn't want to be here Pats would have known a week ago.

I'm getting the vibe that a professional athlete is a free agent for the first time and is exploring all of his options because he's making the biggest decision of his life.

Isn't it weird that Hightower is putting more importance on "what decision is best for me and the rest of my life?" rather than "uh oh, I'm inconveniencing fans by taking my time, I better hurry up and sign so that they aren't concerned anymore!"

I do think this take could be plausible, that DH is getting less than what he hoped for here right now, and is going around trying to see if he can get what he expected anywhere else.

He would already know what each team is offering money wise there has been plenty of time to gauge his market. He knows the Pats aren't going to up their offer they would have done so.

It's time to move on and go with the back up plan.
