What do ya know… when you make it clear to the team trying to sign you that you won’t sign anywhere else for any reason and only want to play for them forever and always, they kind of have very little incentive to pay you top dollar… since they have no competition for your services and all that.

I am guessing that the reports of Aiyuk re-engaging talks with SF is his attempt of trying to find leverage again to get the offer from PIT up a bit more. He shot himself in the foot.

It has kinda struck me as odd how much the team is courting top WRs despite obviously needing OL help more (though there is not really much OL help on the market either) - but perhaps Wolf feels that an elite receiver needs to be accounted for and will cause defenses to send extra pass rushers less often, which makes life easier on their OL.

He aint coming.

The door is only closed until it opens again. It is extremely doubtful he will be coming here, but the door isn't completely closed until he re-signs with the 49ers or is traded somewhere else.

We are sitting on 50 mill. We are short a hell of a lot more than 1 player. Rumors about what we were “willing to do” for a guy using us as a bargaining chip doesn’t make us a better team.

They got rid of those two main things holding them back. The guy drafting the players and the quarterback. Seems like improvement to me.
