AB toying with us again

Ha, you have to ask that ? on yet another AB thread.
I don't know how somehow jettisoning DT is even in the same stratosphere as releasing AB. One guy is one of the best receivers of all time who is still producing ridiculous numbers. The other guy is a washed up has-been who is a bottom rung starter in the league at best. If we never signed AB and kept DT he would be putting up marginally better numbers than he is now with the Jets. Woo hoo.

Kraft calls the shots Brown should get meek mill to call and vouch to Kraft for him.
For some reason he cares more about Meek than Bill and Tom having everything they need to win number 7.

Mark my words Lamar Jackson will take us down in the playoffs and the most disgusting thing is that Wynn will be out with another injury and Michel will have a 2.5 yard average with a TD in garbage time.
Now if the offense can actually move the ball and Keep the Ravens off the field we can and will win but we need the maturation of Harry or Antonio Brown to pull that feat off.
I've never seen you like this, Chris.

I agree. Just thought it was funny that someone asked why posters were still talking about DT on an AB thread. Both are useless to discuss.

AB is not walking through that door. Give it up people.

Why are people still talking about that JAG DT?
He has more yards than 6 of Brady's other JAGS that caught passes combined. Patriots have too many JAGS, they could've had one that can actually produce.

Tomlinson+Johnson+Gunner+LaCosse+Bolden+Izzo= 323 yards

DT = 360 yards (3rd best of 17 players Brady has thrown to)!

WR corps is depleted. It is what it is.

So he has more yards than a blocking TE who was on the team for 3 weeks, a fullback who played 4 games, a punt returner, a backup TE who played 5 games, a third string RB, and a TE who played 6 games? Congrats to him. He has more yards than Marcus Cannon, Ted Karras, and Jacoby Meyers combined too. Why not throw them in there? DT is a JAG. You want him on the team because most of our other receivers are JAGs? What good will that do?

Was he a litigator? There are all kinds of lawyers out there.
I recall reading an article which mentioned that he was involved in employee-employer disputes.
Obviously, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to know filing suits should be avoided, but he isn't involved in the internal deliberations of this particular case. He may not know everything that justified ABs team to proceed with lawsuit. I find it interesting they waited until after NFL interview to file the suit.
IMHO....

When a nobody files a lawsuit against a millionaire, the "nobody" really has nothing to lose. They are looking for a payday, pure and simple, and will smear the millionaire's reputation as much as they can if they don't get what they want. It's not terribly difficult to find some ambulance chasing lawyer willing to take the whole thing on contingency so it doesn't even cost anything unless you win.

By counter-suing, the "nobody" now has something to lose. Legal expenses come to mind, not to mention the chance they could potentially lose the countersuit.

Jerry Thornton thinks there's a chance.

The trouble with your argument is that DT putting up marginally better numbers than he is with the Jets still makes him, at worst, equal to Mohamed Sanu.

So bottom tier starter he may be, but that is still better than what the Pats have

Honestly...connecting the dots there is a chance. A very very small one but a chance.

Using Logan Mankins as a reference point here. Mankins went off on Kraft pre-Instagram obsessed era and still got his contract. What was the condition of the new deal? An apology. So while Bob has zero credibility he made an educated guess that you can pretty much figure out. The agent reached out to the kid to see what AB could do in order to have a chance at signing back there. Two things most likely came up. One, the NFL needs to clear AB and assure all 32 teams that AB will not be put on the exempt list or suspended. Two, an apology to the old man. It fits the history and makes a ton of sense.

So why now? Brady. Brady is the reason for most of this IMO. He sees the lackluster WR core and he sees games where he's not thrown for a single TD while the talking heads all talk with glee that Brady has fallen off the cliff. Brady is a competitive guy and when he was playing with AB he most likely saw Randy Moss 2.0 and envisioned a perfect season.

Nothing happens until the NFL clears Brown. Once that occurs I'd give it like 30 percent chance that he'd return this year. If he does then its probably here.

Clears Brown? Is there anything to clear at this point?

It’s the NFL. Their past judgment on these matters has stunk enough to clear a dining hall.

Bill clearly thinks more of Sanu than he does of DT. He gave DT away for peanuts and traded a second for Sanu.

Understood but he’s not suspended now, right? Am I wrong or could he theoretically be signed and play right away (if not suspended or put on the exempt list after the fact)?

I'm going to have to process this. The sexual assault allegations are a big deal to me but there's enough he said/she said about it that I'm reserving judgement until we see what we see about the case.

The picture of the kids in the group chat is a lot more clear to me. It was an attempt to intimidate the woman. I highly doubt he was saying he was going to hurt her kids or anything of that nature but at the same time if I was in a civil suit with someone and they sent me a picture of my kids I would feel fear shoot through my heart. Crazy, I know, but I guess I think someone who would try to frighten a parent by showing them a picture of their kids is a genuine piece of garbage or at least having a low point in their life and behaving in a way you'd like to think they would feel bad about for forever. I don't know that Antonio actually feels that badly.

At the same time, despite being a Patriot Way denier, I do think that our football team has a plethora of high quality guys and some of them seem to genuinely like AB and they'd have a better bead on him as a person than me.

Ultimately I don't like rooting for people who are violent criminals or abusive assholes. Call me old-fashioned, I guess, but it does matter to me still to some degree. So this is an important question for me to answer because I think it's almost a given that if the NFL clears the way and if Antonio deletes his social media that he'll be back here within 2-3 weeks.
