AB threatens to retire (Helmet-Gate)

Well they’ve gotten josh Gordon on the right track but Gordon has a drug problem not a mental illness problem.

Gordon has documented mental health issues, he has acknowledged them and is under treatment for them.

If the money works. Sign the beast. Cut him first time he misses practice.

Pats locker culture and Belichick and Brady’s gravitas makes the most sense by far but I worry that AB is truly mentally ill. Either that or this was his brilliant way to play where he wants to play (probably wouldn’t give up 30 mill for that right, however). With Gordon and AB the Pats would truly be the land of the misfit toys.

Two thing that shouldn't be discounted, from the perspective of AB's preference

1. He and Harrison are good buddies, I believe, and Harrison came to love Brady, BB and the Pats during his short time in Foxboro.
2. His agent has a great relationship with the Pats and may push him in that direction.

This crazy MF seems to always get what he wants (traded, released). Maybe he saw enough of the Raiders to realize he wanted out before it even began? Who the f**ck knows.

Also, who cares?

How funny would it be if he were still on the Steelers and all this were happening right before our game tomorrow?

One thing's for sure. They can't count on Gordon for the full season so AB would be a huge insurance policy.

The important thing about insurance is having it in force when you need it. At this point in time I'd bet on Gordon's stability and mental health before I'd bet on Brown's

How many games has Gordon missed? I lost track. If AB managed to become a Patriot he'd be viewed as insurance for Gordon not vice versa.

I’m starting to think AB is crazy like a fox. He knows the Raiders suck and he won’t be winning anything there so he temporarily damages his reputation to get released. He can then sign a less lucrative 1 year deal with a contender, try to win a championship, rehab his image and then be. a FA next year to sign a longer term big money deal.

Is it a risk? Sure but if winning is a big goal of his, he may be willing to gamble.

Or he really is bat$hit crazy.

I agree with the latter part.

Do we........do we uhhh....do we want him?

Gordon has missed plenty and TBH while one would hope he has turned the corner I would be surprised if he has no further issues. That said, Brown is unstable at best and his 50¢ head is not something I'd rely on and that is what insurance is all about.

[QUOTE="will be"?????

You must be new here. Welcome!

.[/QUOTE]

Technically I'm not new here. I used to post here years ago but I went to the ESPN boards, they died so I roamed around on a few other boards for awhile and came back here. I forgot my login info so after messaging Ian, I started a new account.

No thanks.
I’m probably with ya, but it’s going to be interesting.

I bet the Chiefs make the move if we don’t. They already have Hill. What’s one more nutcase?

Plot twist: the dolphins sign him

I wonder how
Do we........do we uhhh....do we want him?
I think the answer is yes. The biggest difference with the Pats is how this would have been handled. It wouldn’t have gotten to this point before he was released. IF he signs here and it’s the same old **** he’s gone at incident one. Not after 10 or 12 issues.
