Aaron Rodgers positive for COVID (update: “furious” status leaked, claims he didn’t lie, attacks NFL protocols)

They have to make GB forfeit right? the whole team was just at a big party together. It's a super spreader event.

So the NFL is defending Rodgers on this.

Interesting.

They’re saving their own necks. Because most of these protocol violations are so obvious, and if they knew about it as they claim, they look incompetent or corrupt (in fact, that’s exactly what they are.). If they‘ve known he isn’t vaxxed, they didn’t notice he’s maskless at pressers, on national tv? They really had no clue he’s traveling with the team? The Halloween Party was published all over the news.

Not if the vaxxed players don't test positive.

And, again, a forfeit can only occur if the league cannot reschedule a game. It is not automatic.

La Fleur: Did you ever hear of Wally Pipp?
Rodgers: Wally what, uh uh

Can Rodgers fragile ego handle it if Love plays well and wins? That's the bigger story IMO. The rest of the season will be about Love as GBs future guy.

Also, if Rodgers seriously wants to leave LaFleur whose system is tailor made for an again Qb and go to Denver with a defensive minded coach who seems pretty clueless, his end of career is legacy is going to go up in flames. Not to mention trading in playing in the worst division in the NFC for the first or second best in the AFC.

Should be a forfeit on Sunday. The League NOT pursuing the violation of their own rules is beyong ridiculous (but predictable). We are talking about a League that allowed network news to run "How do you tell the children" (literally) news segments for PV = nRT and now they allow the non-vaxxed to hang with an entire team unmasked, despite their clear rules.

Hate this League.

I never cared much for Rodgers and this drops him down a few more notches.

People expecting action against the team or Rodgers are dreaming.

All we are saaayiiing... is give Love a chance.

IIRC while the Commissioner has extraordinary power, one of the few powers he explicitly is denied is the ability to declare forfeits that way.

Forfeits? Can only imagine the explosion on any boards that would result if a forfeit is given to any team. And then it will forever be an "asterisk" on all records. As Pats Fans I think we long heard about them damned things!

Isn't the Covid policy that they are not going to reschedule ? If the amount of actual contacts was taken, would it not prevent GB from fiedling a team ? The Commish has nothing to do with it - it is not the policy the teams accepted as part of the protocols ?

Are you referring to a change between 2020 and 2021? Because multiple games were postponed last year.

Yes. Perhaps I misunderstood the policy, but I was under the impression that THIS season, games would not be pushed back to accomodate and that teams that cannot field a team would then be given the loss... maybe I'm wrong.

You might be right, I just thought the COVID related rules all carried over from last year without changes but I don't remember where or when I would have heard that so it might just not be true.

Perhaps if they aren’t going to follow their own protocol, they should just do away with the protocol?

I don't think GB is in any danger of not fielding a team. All their receivers will be back for this game. It stinks that they lost their starter but that is no reason to forfeit. I believe they can with his game with Love given how awful the Chiefs are playing.

Maybe they'll trade for Kendall Hinton he has experience in games like this

Yeah, there was some change along those lines new this season.

The media is eviscerating Rodgers today. Everyone is calling him a liar even Stephen A Smith who loves him.
