A surprise team that could be one of our biggest threats in the AFC in a couple years:

The Texans aren't even remotely a threat in my mind, the only time they have ever beaten the Pats was week 17 of the 09 season when the game didn't mean anything. But because they played better than expected in the playoffs suddenly they are a team that can beat the pats, remember that they lost 27-0 to Brisket and went 9-7 to win an awful AFC south.

The loss to Houston in 09 was when we lost Welker. One of the Pats videos had a video of the meeting prior to the game where BB was talking about how soon to take Wes out. Too late bill.

Teams I would worry about from most to least next year:

1. Texans (if they pick up a QB)
2. Miami (I think they are headed in the right direction)
3. Raiders
4. Titans
5. Broncos (if they get a QB)

My novice opinion.

as long as Tannenhill is their QB they will be at best a wildcard playoff team that loses early.

That aside Tannehill had one of his best seasons and was in his first season under Gase and his offensive scheme.

Part of my opinion developed after reading a lot about the Falcons during the lead up to the Super Bowl. Quinn changed both their offensive and defensive schemes. They struggled with the new offense the first year but Matt Ryan had a great second year. It took time for them to get comfortable with the new scheme.

Gase is in his second year. Tannehill had one of his best seasons under Gase and his new scheme. They struggled earlier in the season and got better near the end. Granted I haven't watched all the film etc.. but if they won more near the end of the season because they were becoming more comfortable with the offensive scheme it could mean that Tannehill could be better this season.

I'm not saying Tannehill is Matt Ryan because he's not but I do think he could have a better season this year.

But both you and luuked could be right and probably are. I haven't watched enough miami games nor am I a football genius to state anything conclusively either way but the reasons above are why I chose Miami as one of the teams that worry me.

Ryan has always been +4000 and around 30Tds, the only diff was his int's went way down this year. He's always been a very good QB (not elite).

Tannenhill is an average QB at best is good. You need a great QB to be a perennial powerhouse.

If the Texans had any sort of quarterback the patriots may have actually been one and out. Only a legit threat if they have a capable starter

its not like they are just missing a good guard or something, its pretty hard to find a decent QB

Honestly, I'm surprised they did come out on top of the AFC South last year in such a crappy division.
