Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Not in 2028 it doesn't
Yep. If we have a catastrophic season in 2027 for whatever reason and that pick is in the top 10, there is zero chance anyone would be able to say with a straight face it's no worse than losing a 2nd rounder the year before, no matter how stacked this next draft is supposed to be.

As Shefter has said the 2028 #1 twice now, I am guessing that's what is happening no matter how stupid it is

Better than a 2027 second.

I agree. In terms of compensation a 1st in 28' is considered a 3rd right now, but ultimately I think it's closer to a 2nd. I think the Patriots are betting that they will have a very good team and it will be a late 1st, but there should also be some production/. playing requirements.

Felger is a primping ass, but he does keep a VERY clean work environment. Mazzarotti is the most ugly-minded waste of space ever to be granted public bandwidth. Felger is tedious, but he feeds the needs of those for whom sports talk is just gossip. Mazz is worse.

As for The Trade, it's a stupid idea, a waste of draft resources for a declining WR who will no doubt earn more than he is worth for a far shorter duration than delusional fanboys imagine. A "proven" player is a euphemism for an old, fading player. This team is or ought to be in draft-and-develop mode, not lost in snatching at shiny objects to feed fans' need for excitement.

Trading ANY first or secondround pick for him is foolish. A drafted player give several years of inexpensive service and can then have longer-term upside potential. It is an incontrovertible fact that a player such as Brown has no long term potential, no upside over time whatsoever. Acquiring Brown at this point in his career looks like something the Jets might do, tbh, or any other team too lazy and impatient to do the actual work of rebuilding a recently-failed team.

Yes. What we have to look at is the teams re-established a winning culture... continuing What was built upon last season.. so if we are picking in the bottom of the 1st in 2028.. then it's a good thing.

It's such a disparity when you at Maye's weapons compared to his peers weapons. Jackson Dart just came in the league and look who he has at his disposal. JJ McCarthy have Justin Jefferson - Penix Jr have Drake London - Caleb have too many weapons - Bo Nix now have Waddle. I hope all of you Experts eat your shirts when we get A.J. Brown. Vrabel knows Maye can't make chicken salad out of chicken ****: Maye ain't built like that.

Twin you know I agree with you! It's the drafting.. past few years and it caught up to us.. Minnesota got JJ in the deal for Steph.. I'm sure Buffalo in hindsight would have liked to have kept the JJ pick!

AJ will be here June 2nd my guy.. the organization needed to go through 4-13, Joe judge and Patricia, last in cash spending.. mayo, the draft bust in order to get to where they are now.

It astounds me that you continue to ignore the difference between these two things:

1. I would be happy with acquiring AJ Btown for reasonable compensation.

2. I would not be ok with trading any 1st round pick for AJ Brown.

Ok I'll let Vrabel know about your preference.

I don’t understand giving up a 28 1st. This team needs sustainable young talent. We actually have very few young core pieces beyond Maye and Gonzalez. Secondly, it’s very hard to predict what a 28 1st will look like. It could easily be in the 8-15 range. Just a stupid trade

As others have said he is a 29 year old receiver with knee issues coming off his worst season. He wants out and despite what they say Philly want him out too. I’d be open to a 28 2nd that can become a first if he hits 1400 yards or is named all pro or something. But Brown is on the downturn and there is a very realistic chance that by next offseason we are seriously regretting the trade.

Ok I'll let Vrabel know about your preference.
And if Vrabel took your preferences under consideration, he could have skipped the entire draft because we would have already traded all of our 2026 draft picks before he even took the job.
