Patriots Rumor A.J. Brown trade rumors heat up - Should Patriots get him?

A report indicating the Patriots are potentially in the market for this player, or have expressed or plant to express interest.
Diggs not being is is 2 reasons

1. His multiple off field distractions lawsuits, ect.

2. His unwillingness to restructure

He was awesome last season and really couldn't have asked for a better regular season for a 30 plus wr coming off a serious knee injury.
I just feel like he downed tools for the off season and we were fortunate the defence did enough to get us to the SB. Anyone willing to let personal distractions get in the way of the ultimate prize should be jettisoned in my opinion. Especially a guy turning 33 with legal issues and recent injury history. He just doesn't look a good bet to perform well next season.

I think we've improved at S and Edge with the FA signings, but we really need to hit on Edge, LB, CB and DT in the draft to provide quality depth. We probably have the finest secondary in the league, but you can see it is only one deep and that's dangerous. The defense reminds me a bit of the late 90's when we had some very good teams, but they were all top heavy and lacked depth and when we got hit with some key injuries, they failed to meet expectations. Guys like Ponder, Farmer, Swinson, and Woods all have to up their games and become useful depth players.

This is my core concern too, along with the miles on Brown's tires, the draft capital to get him. and his high-end contract.

c. Edge and LB are the thinnest positions going into the draft, but at 31, 62, and 95 we are unlikely to find a starter. We need those first 2 days to find 3 guys who can become immediate contributors. Edge, LB and TE are 3 biggest needs. I know RT is a need too, but Moses proved to be a worth RT for THIS year, and we will have another FA and draft periods to replace him for the '27 season if we don't find one worth in this draft on day 3 with our 8 picks.

Personally I'd rather we spend the draft capital on moving up to get better players this season or keep our draft capital for next season than add another WR. I realize Brown is better than any of our current WRs, but I also feel the other needs are more urgent.

I am also concerned about any stipulations that Roseman might put on the compensation acquired.

I don’t want to root against Brown for fear that he is close to a yardstick which will change a pick to a higher round.

At this point I would prefer moving on from Brown and not even dealing with Roseman.

Someone said that Roseman is motivated to always be seen as winning a trade.

Oh, and Shakespeare wrote some dirty **** that we now accept as masterpiece level work. If it was translated into modern English, it'd be some of the most R rated stuff ever.

And you want a lazy malcontent at TE? Maybe for the same as you traded to get Moss. Don't forget, we were taking a flyer on him, too.

Definitely fake. Look at the source. I already locked a thread for this
This was all I found.

Agreed. I believe stef is still a goo player but off the field has just as much to do with on. Basically the entire offense struggled in the postseason. That's what happens when teams have 17 weeks of film on a offense. But I see your overall point.

He's going to have to give a little more than he's probably used too. If we take a WR in round 2 I'd say it's likely we back out. Although Giardi mentioned AJ wants to be here and the organization wants him as well. So we'll see after tonight how the first 2 rounds go.
