First question, If a qb with 9 years or so in the league is traded to say Detriot or so other bad team ,would the qb have the right to refuse to go?

Second question, if the qb refused to go what would be the teams options and the players options. I know that Manning refused to go to the Chargers when he was drafted.
Thanks.

Re: a couple questions

Very few players are punks like the Mannings.

If you're traded you have to go - unless you're a punk like Ellie. However a team is unlikely to trade for a player who doesn't want to go.

Re: a couple questions

In baseball if you are a ten year vet and have been with the team atleast 5 years you have the right to refuse a trade. is there anything like that in football?

No - just the CFL or the Arena League. But you can say you won't report which would discourage the other team.

Re: a couple questions

A player can refuse to play for a team he is traded to at any point in his career. He just needs to do what Jake Plummer did - retire. If a player is under contract, there is no point in time in the NFL where he can refuse a trade. He can try to stop a trade by threatening to hold out or refuse to renegotiate his deal. But that is it.

Obviously a player can retire at any time. I think it was implied that the player would still be paid and be in the league at the end of this.
