4 Monday Patriots Thoughts: Esiason Handled Brady Situation Poorly

I never cared for Esaison's commentary.

I recall back in 2003ish when reports emerged of Lawrence Taylor's crack and hooker habits, Esaison tearing into Taylor during the CBS pregame stating something along the lines of "This man doesn't belong in the hall of fame, he belongs in the hall of shame."

Deion Sanders immediately responded "what NFL were you playing in?"

Tom Terrific may have been a good nickname back in the days of Goober and Barney Fife ... but it sucks today regardless of who owns it ... best for it to be buried and gone.

Never, ever did I think of Brady as "Tom Terrific". It doesn't fit, and it's taken already.

That said, Esiason has ALWAYS hated the Patriots, he KNOWS that we would have kicked his ass (again) in the '88 AFCCG if Berry hadn't insanely benched Flutie, and he goes right along with all the fake cheating accusations against us.

No ambivalence that he (under Tagliabue's order) was instrumental in keeping us here and allowing CMGI Field (Gillette) to be built?

I certainly don't, but Kraft still does to this day; he even defends Douchebagdell by saying the owners "forced" him into CameraLocationGate and DefameGate. He loves Roger like a son...supported that obscene contract extension.

This whole controversy does not mean a lot to me as I was brought up in an era where "Tom Terrific" meant something completely different, a cartoon character on Captain Kangaroo... if they bring back "Lariat Sam" then will show more concern.
