PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp Day 6

Two names to look out for as to why there might be a trade or cuts coming at WR.

UDFA's Nick DeGennaro and Cameron Dorner, Nick has by my count his third TD of this camp, and Dorner 1 or 2 TD's along with some long grabs.

It will be a lot harder for them to crack the 53 man roster at the WR position, but if nothing else there may be some good guys in development sitting on the practice squad.

But If there is a trade or some cuts... this WR room might look completely different.

I know they love him as a blocker and as a locker room presence but is Mack Hollins on the bubble? Easy contract to cut and with Douglas, Williams and Chism starting to do well, there's not much coming from Hollins in these tweets.

So, sounds like Miller is taking over RB3 spot? Haven't heard much of anything from Larison.
Also curious about Obiazor, Luketa, Muma, Gainer, Holmes - any looks at any of them?
It seems the assumption Larison was just penciled in as the third RB was pure offseason binkie adoration. Jam played at Alabama, one of Saban's last guys. Heck the other RB's they brought in have some juice, Larison is in a dogfight.

I read Khalil Jacobs had one of the better hits in camp on a run stop, Gainer had a win in one on ones based on a tweet. It's been quiet, the media throng are so enraptured by Drake/AJ Brown and the new draftees we'll be lucky to hear anything else.

That seems like the feel from the reports. Was hoping to hear more Larison buzz since I like his skillset better. But maybe Jam will give us a good short yardage option that we haven’t really had.

Hollins is a team guy and a blue collar type. It wouldn't shock me if he agreed to a cut and sign to make the practice squad just to get the team through cutdown day. He could end up back on the team in week one ready to play once they put others on IR or made adjusting moves.

I think a lot will matter on TE and how the rest of the roster shakes out. Or they might just decide to let him go early and find his way to a contender, but Josh loves him... so if he wants to be here I don't see how he won't be.

I think thats a sneaky one honestly. Nobody is really talking about him possibly being a cut/trade candidate.

Other than Miller, who else has shown anything?
Well I think Larison is still in prime position but Miller is taking advantage of his opportunity. Ultimately though, it'll come down to who does better as a blocker and special teams.

It felt from day one that Jam has as much a shot as Larison for the 3rd spot.

Jacobs is getting attention. They cut Reese today which may mean they feel comfortable with the young linebackers so far.

We’ve seen this before with Douglas.

IMO he is one we should be looking to move rather than Boutte (I know Boutte has asked for a trade) and I like Williams and Chism more than Douglas.
The problem with Boutte is that they're not going to give him the contract he wants after this season. He'll likely command doubs type money at least.

Douglas and Drake needed to get on the same page in Josh's offense. Drake's rookie season Douglas led the WR room in receptions, so he's been successful in the regular season as well.

Douglas is better in short space, better in the slot than Boutte. There's a tool for every job.

Jam and the other rookies are faster. Jam also came from the SEC, he played on a declining Bama squad ever since Saban left, but was still one of those highly touted recruits Nick brought in and was running behind a subpar offensive line and offense.

Jam did yeoman's work last season, and his suffering might have gifted the Patriots a player in the middle rounds who may have been a much higher draft pick had he the luxury of playing on a better team.

I once compared compared Larison to Rex Burkhead athletically, a very good player... but Jam might be closer to Henderson than Burkhead. Just because Jam is better won't mean Larison is bad, it just means great teams have great depth.

I want a RB who can pick up the blitz.

That will be a given, they won't play without it.

Henderson doesn't seem to be capable of it.

My point is that the winner of #3 back might be decided on this.

They're probably close enough as actual runners.
