Thank God Wolf was at his kids soccer games and didn't sign anyone. Can you imagine Wolf trying to fix the roster depth situation? Scary thought.

I think in their analysis, if there’s not a big difference, choose the younger, cheaper rookie.

I think this looks cleaner. I imagine when these 3 come back.. Hutchins, Crowner and Canada goes to the PS (or Woods is cut).

I think it is clear the Pats wouldn't trade for a player then not expect him to make the game day roster. They must think Rouse is instantly OT 3 or 4. Reed will play... probably in box on certain snaps and dress over Canada or Woods.

Who I would expect to sit? Crownover, B. Brown, Chism, Hutchins, (Taylor or Farmer), (Canada or Woods). I would expect Canada over Woods if they like his STs more. I would expect Farmer/Taylor to be match up specific.

It is very possible still they pick up an Edge and send Jacobs to the PS. I don't think Jacobs or Hutchins deserves to be a game day active. Probably not even Jacas yet TBH... but maybe set him up for success by giving him pass rushing only situations.

Keeping f'in Woods over Vildor is a travesty. Woods is a 5th/6th type whereas Vildor can step in and start if needed.

Of note, The Pats only used 1 of the 2 IR Designations as far as I can tell and that was on Bryant.

Means that Brown and Baringer may only miss 1-2 games. But that could change if they IR them tomorrow.

What's interesting is that, from what I can find, the 3rd QB can be put on the Practice Squad and Elevated for game days. The only issue with that is that another team COULD sign them away.

January 2025: “This is the worst roster in the NFL, it’s going to take Vrabel years to dig out of this ****storm!”

August 2026: “How is our roster so ****ty that we’re trading for other people’s cuts at the deadline?! What’s Wolf been doing this whole time???”

Only NFL season actually played during that time period: Won AFC Championship in Denver of all places, lost Super Bowl.

Is PUP different to IR designation?

Yes. PUP and NFI are completely different. They automatically transfer from "ACTIVE/Physically Unable to Perform" and "ACTIVE/Non-Football Injury" to "RESERVE/PUP" and "RESERVE/NFI" For RESERVE/PUP & RESERVE/NFI, the Player must sit a minimum of 4 games, BUT they must be "Activated" prior to the 9th game and then they have 3 weeks to be put on the 53 man roster or they revert to their Respective RESERVE designation and are lost for the year.

I would have been stunned if Prunty didn’t make it. Morton wouldn’t have cleared waivers. So it’s always good to develop another QB
