He was one of the team's best players in the first half of the season.

So? It’s still not at all unusual for players not to practice till they do.

It's stupid to practice without a contract and risk injury. You have to protect your financial interests.

This, especially when you're talking about over 10 million dollars over 4 years.

Say Jacas goes out and shreds his knee in OTAs like Julian Hill literally just did - except he wasn't under contract. Hopefully his agent would have been smart enough to take out an insurance policy, but the NFL isn't exactly known for doing guys a solid.

You want to get mad at Gonzalez for holding out, I think it's a little dramatic, but at least you have a case, he's under contract. Same with Boutte.

Jacas isn't under contract. Getting pissed at him for not going out there and risking injury when he's not even under contract is crazy to me.
