Our backup skill position players looked good.

Vildor looked good as well.

Our interior backups on O and D looked terrible. Got pushed around, missed assignments and poor technique. FO really did a poor job assembling these backups.

Vrabel is correct that it is not a very deep team, although it is at least deeper than last year’s team, and their starters in general are better than last year’s team too, especially on the offensive side of the ball. So not a perfect roster, but definitely a step forward, for a team coming off a Super Bowl berth. Reasons to be optimistic.

I was one of them. I wanted Haynes King and saw Morton do really poorly against Oregon in the playoffs which turned me off him. Happy to acknowledge he started proving himself to me tonight. Very impressed.

I wanted Ur Bernard, thought SALT would be there as a un drafted free agent. He showed me that i underestimated him tonight

I think by the time we get to the actual season, Lomu will be ready to be a serviceable backup. GREAT that he got so many snaps tonight. He's another guy who got better as the game went on. He'll sleep well tonight.

He is what we thought he was when we drafted him. Big frame, superior athlete, and not strong or beefy enough to dominate...yet.

I thought Lan Larison looked like an NFL player.

He's so smooth in the passing game.

BTW I've seen a few posters refer to Larison as a little guy, maybe because his role reminds us of smaller backs like Danny Woodhead and Dion Lewis. But he's actually 5'11" 209, bigger than Treveyon Henderson.

Yeah I’d say NO ONE (including vrabes) has thus far proved good at trench depth. That needs to improve or it will be the reason he never wins a SB.

Clearly not as deep as you would like, but certainly better than last season with the skill positions on offense and the secondary on D. This might be a good time to make a call to Bobby Wagner. Muma has disappointed and no one else has stood out, though things did improve in the 2nd half.

One area that I would like to see improvement was the defense COACHING. The Eagles killed us in the 2nd half with essentially ONE simple pass play (that flat pass to the RB) OVER and over again and we never seemed to adjust to that. That was really the only play that was working for them for most of the 2nd half. I blame the staff, who never seemed to put their players in a position to succeed.

I guess it is preseason for more than just the players.

Looking at her face, I wasn't sure if she was a middle aged woman who's had quite a bit of work done, or a 30 year old who's partied way too hard and way too long, and that party obv continued into the game tonight.

Me too. He probably just played his way onto the 53.

CB depth looks good. Victor and Prunty did well.

Both of them are making the 53. But unless one of them (Vildor) can handle Slot duties, then we still need a vet backup for Marcus Jones.

I'd say more factual than motivational. How else can one look at the first couple of drives with the Next Man Up defense on the field and Not come to that conclusion?
