If the BPA is a QB and you have one, do you still take him? No. Taking a player is always balanced against need. Edge was the biggest need and Jacas was the best player available at that position. Not a reach by any stretch. My only issue with the Jacas pick is we traded up for a guy who clearly wasn't BPA. Drafting for need can stink like that.
Just means that Jones will be the backup for a year.Logan Jones to the Bears?
They just traded for Bradbury.
Absolutely. Though i wouldn't call him one of the 'impact' edge guys. To me Parker was the last impact guy. Gabe needs some seasoning IMO. Like i said, I think he can rotate immediately start soon. Maybe be impact down the line. I make a separation based on that. But I could be wrong. Maybe he starts day 1 and runs over guys. Be happy to be wrong here.Might not have been the BPA, but he was the last of the impact Edge players which was our major need
I would be happy with either, but if both are gone and Chris Bell is there…..TEs going but the good thing is Delp and Roush are still available
Rather select a WR.TEs going but the good thing is Delp and Roush are still available
Only (3) 6ths left?? I’d trade all 3 right now for the best TE on the board named Roush….Down to one 3rd, one 5th, three 6ths, and a 7th.
I’m guessing they’ll use a 6th to move up into the 4th, skip the 5th round, and then use their remaining two 6ths and 7th.
A typical BB draft would be trade down 3 times and take 2 unathletic small school football players nobody heard of. Plus One of them has to be an undersized DB from Rutgers for some reason.I kinda of love having the conviction to trade up for a target you really want.
You end up with Cyrus Jones, Ras I-Dowling ect when you trade down treat a pool of players like they are all inter changable in a 10 pick range.
Eliot Wolf said they never draft for need?My only issue with the Jacas pick is we traded up for a guy who clearly wasn't BPA. Drafting for need can stink like that.
We get one of them and this draft is an A plus for me.TEs going but the good thing is Delp and Roush are still available

This year's draft made a lot more sense. We had some clear needs. We targeted them and we moved up to address those needs with players that we liked better than other options.
