Down to one 3rd, one 5th, three 6ths, and a 7th.

I’m guessing they’ll use a 6th to move up into the 4th, skip the 5th round, and then use their remaining two 6ths and 7th.

To be fair it isn’t a deep draft, so getting players when we can get them is a good idea.

With his rocked-up, athletic build, Jacas is a quick and violent pass rusher who doesn’t need a long runway. He credits his wrestling background for his handwork and maneuvering skills (also worked closely with pass-rush specialist Joe Kim, whom Illinois hired from the New England Patriots in 2025). As a run defender, he uses his heavy hands to strike blockers but gets tangled versus length and must improve his awareness against seal down blocks.

Jacas won’t consistently outrace NFL tackles, but his powerful, proficient technique and aggressive play demeanor should translate well to the next level. He projects as a rotational edge defender.

Thats a very interesting detail. I assume there may still be some personal ties between the Patriots and Kim.

Todd McShay compares him to Trey Hendrickson. Had him at 31 on his big board.

My only issue with the Jacas pick is we traded up for a guy who clearly wasn't BPA. Drafting for need can stink like that.

They really don't need to bring in many rookie picks. They kept their entire draft class from last year, plus undrafted rookies, like Larison, Ponder etc...

With no 4th I wouldn't be shocked if we trade out of the 3rd.

Unless a player they want is there at there at 95 (or higher !)

I don't mind giving away picks, Patriots got into a habit of being obsessed with "more darts at the dartboard" for a number of years and we went from getting 3 solid contributors every year to a draft full of guys who couldn't play dead in a western.

Brugler had him ranked at 49, Jeremiah at 50 (I believe), McShay at 31.
