2026 Draft: Defensive Tackle

Lee Hunter had SEVEN defensive stops (tfl or no gain) today. For context, the most Kayden McDonald has had in a game this year is 4. The most Mason Graham had last year was six.

Barmore replacement if needed?

Manx's mock:

1. David Bailey, EDGE, Texas Tech
2. Lee Hunter, Texas Tech
3. Romello Height, EDGE, Texas Tech
4a. Jacob Rodriguez, LB, Texas Tech
4b. AJ Holmes, DT, Texas Tech
5a. (Trade up) Skyler Gill,-Howard, DT, Texas Tech
5b. Ben Roberts, LB, Texas Tech
6-7. Any Texas Tech DBs
Not looking so bad now.

For a lot of reasons I won't go into, I've barely watched any football or had time for hobbies this year. Definitely relying on the fine folks here in the draft forum to keep me apprised of situations and give me the inside scoop on players. What can you tell me about A'Mauri Washington? Based on my initial viewing, I'm pretty positive on his prospects, but I'm way out of the loop and don't know how he stacks up against other players this year.

There has been a lot of good defensive players in the CFP. Can we somehow get three for next year? I did like Height, Hunter and Roberts from Tech. Maybe get one from Tech, Miami, Oregon, Indiana. Please Santa!

Borderline first rounder. A Feldman freak and very athletic - a 36" vert if I remember correctly. From what I've seen on X, the narrative has been "very high upside but it might be a year too early".

Agreed. Linebacker, NT, nickel cornerback and maybe safety are the strength positions on defense. It's a good year for defensive depth - I'm less convinced it's a good year for impact starters although there are some intriguing prospects there too.

If you click through to this tweet, you'll see Dontay Corleone had blood clots in his lungs in 2024. That triggers me enough to take him off my board, at least before late day 3.
