2025 Patriots Draft Meetings Tracker

No Tonka or TJ time?

No Tonka or TJ time?
They have enough interior rushers in williams, Barmore and White. They seem to be looking at bigger late round DTs as backup & developmental guys behind Tonga.

Overview

Defensive tackle with imposing size and intriguing flashes but a relative lack of snap experience for a sixth-year player. His anchor can sink fairly deep against double-teams and he has the length and power to control and shed single blocks. He’s very average athletically but moves with some quickness to tackle inside. Jules holds his own against blockers but struggles with play recognition and consistency. He also offers little success as a rusher. His traits and flashes necessitate a “developmental” label.

Strengths

  • Imposing build with a broad trunk and thick arms.
  • Lifts blocker with leveraged strike and powerful hips.
  • Extends and discards the block to tackle his gap.
  • Corkscrews post leg deep to soak up double-teams.
  • Rallies to the play with adequate short-area quickness.

Weaknesses

  • Only seven career starts and less than 1,000 snaps played, per PFF.
  • Displays little feel or instincts in his play diagnosis.
  • Needs to lower pad level through engagement.
  • Lacks a go-to move to create rush openings.

I don't think pre-draft meetings are all that predictive when it comes to which individuals we meet with and whether we will draft them, but I do think they can offer some insight into how the team values certain positions in the draft. We're still in the middle of pro-day season and haven't had a single 30 visit announced yet but looking at the connections we've had with prospects so far there are some patterns.

1. We've talked to just about every OT in the late round one to round three range.

2. Significant interest in day 2 and early day 3 WRs.

3. Pass catching/change of pace RBs in the round 3-5 range.

4. Late day three run defending DTs,

5. Day three linebacker.

6. Round 2-4 pass rusher.

I don't see any obvious patterns to TE, Interior OL, CB or S.

Don't take any of that to the bank, those are just the patterns I'm seeing.

That's pretty good observation my man. Nice work.

Not the OT from a Kansas school I want

I will forever dub Mike Vrabel to knight status if he can ameliorate our WR corps
I gave you a like simply for the correct use of the word “ameliorate.” I had a boss once that yelled at me because he was sure it wasn’t a word. Good thing for me I didn’t ever use “quinquennial.”

Haha cheers mate. Maybe you should have had your bosses job.
