So if Daboll gets fired, I think that we should pursue him if Mayo is let go. Thoughts on Daboll as a HC target here?
My #1 choice is Flo, but I am not sure He leaves the Vikings.

I can't remember Bill throwing his players under the bus like that in 23 years. Mayo isn't even half a season in. The ship is sinking and he's trying to take off in the only lifeboat.
He didn't have to. He won three Super Bowls in his first 5 years with the team.

2 TD's. 2 (should have been) INT's. Lead the team in rushing. That's pretty much what he did last week.

I'm not seeing that as an improvement.
I'm happy with what I've seen and once he has more game time and a better team the future looks bright.

Vrabel as HC and Daboll as OC sounds good to me.

ok, ill go with the OT, the wr is a shiny object if the qb doesn't have to to throw to him
If they can find one on offer who is worth acquiring, I am all for it, but i think it's unlikely. Lots of problems. eh?

That was a ****in' abysmal display of futility... that's about all I can say about that.

I was thinking the last time a Pats’ defense played this badly over a stretch of games was in 2022 after the bye when they also couldn’t stop the run, couldn’t get off the field and gave up too many big plays. At the time, with Bill Belichick as HC and Steve as the play-caller, that stretch was attributed to the injuries sustained by key defensive players.

Coaching provides a team’s floor; talented players determine a team’s ceiling. This team is not good enough, deep enough and too banged up in the trenches for anything else to matter.
After the bye in 2022 they allowed 59 and 57 rushing yards the next 2 games and 88 per game total after the bye.
Not sure what you’ve talking about

Oh God no. Daboll is terrible.

This HC and GM are getting 2 years. Talk of firing is just talk, not going to happen. They need a full 2 years to say they have their guys and their system in place. Kraft isn't changing after year 1.
We still play 1-win Titans and Rams, so #1 pick is not guaranteed, especially with Maye starting.
Unfortunately, no top QB's this year, not sure you are getting much for #1 if you get it.
IF you get #1, and the trades are crap you have to take Hunter, you need a lot and he's 2 players in 1! He also seems to be a generational athletic talent; you don't pass them up. You need elite stars, it's a relatively weak draft. Will see how the players rank end of year and maybe things change but take the guaranteed superstar when you can.

If you cannot stop the run when you know they are running, you are screwed. I have no idea how coaching fixes that. This is basic.
Bentley and Barmore can help fix that in 2025 but see no hope in 2024. It's embarrassing to be that bad against the run.

No. Bob needs to cut all ties with BB - even former players.

Bob wants to move on from Bill, but wants a younger version of him to keep his system in place. It doesn’t work like that.

I am not a fan of Vrabel as HC for the Pats, but GM also needs to be addressed.

I know that a lot of Pats fans are clamoring for the next coach to be offensive-minded and in principle, I would be fine with that, but I'm not interested in taking a chance on another first time head coach who is learning on the fly. I want someone who has proven that he can run a successful program in the NFL. Vrabel always seemed to get the most out of the talent in Tenn and Allen's career took off under Daboll. The established offensive head coaches aren’t going anywhere.

It doesn’t matter anyway because the Krafts won’t be willing to admit their mistake with Mayo and they are also too cheap to pay Mayo and his staff to not coach for them and also pay what it would take to convince a top HC/OC combo to come to Foxboro.

Offensive coordinator?
