Excellent point. What is the penalty for acting now? Kraft's ego is damaged. That's it.

There is no downside. Mayo is clearly in over his head and not head coach material. Wolf has been atrocious. AVP is a disaster. The players aren't playing hard. They are the worst team with the worst coaching staff and the worst GM in the league.

What is the penalty for delay? The Maye opportunity is pissed away, lost ticket sales, lost fans, lost merch sales, becoming a perennial laughing stock of the NFL, Kraft damaging his own legacy beyond repair with folks concluding he must have had little to do with the success of the dynasty, etc. For starters. And Kraft loses his last chance at another SB run. He's old. The longer Kraft delays, the harder it will be to find good people to fill critical roles. I think this path ends with a sale of the team.
if Kraft likes people he knows Vrabel and Mcdaniels should be in the fold.
If not you throw a blank check at Ben Johnson and don’t get outbid on free agents.

Pray for Maye.

The thing that mostly concerned me about the coaching is that we went to small ball, runs, screens, WR screens, TE screens, when we were hurting the Jags downfield.

How did we hurt them? Who cares... they are the weakest DBs in the entire NFL. And we decided to not pick on them for half the game.

Maye was more than capable of taking advantage of them.

What was AVP thinking? He refused to attack the weakest DBs in the league. When we attacked them, we only had success.

The first two drives were so encouraging , we actually looked like a modern offense. Then for whatever reason just went away from it. At least its somewhat of an improvement with avp and the ol. Pop having to take some series’s off really hurt. Rham also doesn’t look back to full strength. Bourne is still working his way back.

Could be some stuff there for the offense to build off of and that should be interesting to watch. but the defense is going backwards.

He’s suppose to be coaching up these players as a former coach to run thru walls, instead he is quiet as a church mouse on the sideline.
Naive comment at best ...

We lost the game in the trenches ...
not going anywhere until we win in the trenches.
We need the players ... it's not a coaching thing.
We need Barmore and Bentley back badly.

We also need about 3 high level offensive linemen.

Drake needs a stud 1st option as well. I remember how our offense changed when we added Moss and again with Gronk.

Vrabel won't come to NE.

Kraft is too meddlesome.

We need to hold the coaches accountable for not accurately predicting injuries on the defensive side of the ball. This injustice won’t stand man. No but seriously I can’t fault the coaches for doing the best they can with current active players. BTW I’m very excited about the future with Maye….looking good

My point is if Maye, isn’t a X and o guy isn’t a game planner, or someone who is a guru or proven coach his value is a players coach to speak their language and get them to at least elevate their level of effort.

However we are not seeing that, we are seeing a weak team one who is being bullied in the trenches, running 18 times in a row shows no respect for our line,

You can’t win any games that way.

This is way worse than 1990 when they went 1-15. That team had some good players like Irving Fryar, Vincent Brown, Andre Tippett, Maurice Hurst, and Ronnie Lippett. Plus, their coach- as much as he sucked as a HC, had a lot of success as a DC.

I felt way more confident then that things were eventually going to turn around.

This team really only has a few players that I'm interested in building around: Maye, Douglas, Jennings, Gonzales, Marcus Jones, (maybe) Barmore if he gets healthy, (maybe) White if he grows up, (maybe) Mapu, and their punter and kicker.

First of all, we need a whole new GM and scouting team.
We need a new OC.
We need a new DC.
We need a new HC for sure.
We need a whole new RB group. BTW our running backs absolutely suck and Wolfe has mostly got a pass for this, which I don't understand. RBs are much easier to find then tackles, for example.4
We need a whole new WR group. BTW, why hasn't Baker been given an opportunity? You have nothing to lose at this point.
We need a backup QB.
We need new tackles and a new Center.
We need basically a new D line.
We need new linebackers outside of Jennings. BTW where has Uche been? Missing person alert.
We need help at safety.

Honestly if you could do a Herschell Walker or Ricky Williams type of deal by moving Maye I think you have to consider it. That's how bad things are.

You think Maye is limiting AVP's playbook?

I don’t know one way or the other. Maybe he’s got a microchip for a brain.

Does a rookie qb normally grasp the full playbook by week 7?

Didn’t say he was but it was time for BB to go. He was absolutely terrible the last 2 seasons.

Yeah I would have taken Brady staying here over BB every time.
You are a broken record.

If they don't win another game, I think it's more likely Bob pulls the trigger. Saying he wanted to win which was why he fired Bill, yet does worse is a really bad look on Bob.

Maye could be intriguing for a guy like Ben Johnson.
I am finding it really difficult to get behind the team as long as Kraft is the owner.

He had nothing to do with the dynasties.

What are you going to do now that Brady and BB are gone?

It was all YOU, right?

Show us how a HOF owner operates.

Did you just learn that injuries happen in the NFL? All those years we had good defenses we had injuries and the defense didn’t fall to pieces.
Last year we lost Judon, Gonzalez and Marcus jones for almost the whole year.

We have one injury on the DL and we are playing waiver claim guys and the Friends U answer becomes a healthy inactive. Our biggest defensive signing was Hawkins.
I guess you just can’t fault anyone for anything because you prefer excuses.

If the Lions go far this season and their offense is a big reason why, I'd want Bob to heavily pursue Ben Johnson.
I really don't blame any of these players.

They didn't all turn bad over night.
What do you mean? They were a part of a 4-13 team last season and a team that allowed double the amount of points to teams .500 and above as opposed to the bad teams. They aren't difference makers and are system dependent.

Bill would've let Dugger and Owenu walk and waited out on Barmore and Rham.
