Your arguement is the players you mentioned are the reason they lost so they shouldn't have signed them.

They are assets. If they had hit FA they would have been signed for what the NEP paid.

Don't you think if they're getting paid top contracts, they should be making more of a difference? Owenu, Dugger and Rham are virtually invisible. Bill would've let them all walk.

Dugger was available with the transition tag, yet nobody wanted him. So what do the Pats do? They reward him with a contract more than what his tag was.

Stevenson had 120 in the opener. Since that game the Patriots have not had a 100 game from a back or wide receiver. Hunter Henry has 109 vs Seattle, the teams only other 100 game. This TEAM IS ****ING AWFUL

I thought I read somewhere Patriots have not had a 100 yard game from a WR since December 2022.

Agree that GM Bill ran the team into the ground, but other than Maye, this crew hasn't done anything to reverse this.

It’s so sad how bad Bill became at drafting after 2013. Pretty much 10 years of bad drafting. And I’ve been saying this for years, he personally killed the dynasty. It could’ve continued for several more years with good drafting. Brady might’ve stayed if Bill had drafted some good offensive weapons. Years and years of ignoring great WR & TE drafts. It was so frustrating watching it in real time. Watching him draft 5th & 6th round rated DBs in the 2nd round while other teams drafted good offensive players.

Granted, his drafts from 2009-2013 definitely helped the Pats win championships in Dynasty 2 (2014-2018). But the drafts afterwards, as well as this teams inability to cultivate offensive weapons. Seems to still be happening in the new regime.

It is clear to many that Mayo was not and is not ready to be a head coach. The question now is will he ever be ready and, if so, when? For me the answer would have to be by next season. At a minimum, assistants need to be replaced sooner rather than later. If Mayo cannot identify the problem and propose solutions, then he should go too. That discussion should happen now.

The problem with Mayo is:
Most HC’s that get fired were Offensive or Defensive Masterminds before they got hired for the Head Coach job
They get rehired as Coordinators
Mayo was not even that.
He was a LB’s coach. Half responsibility as a DC. My guess was Steve B was more of the brains.
So if he gets canned. He is done. Unless someone wants him as a LB coach.
That is even a stretch with the NFL taking notice of him having Leadership issues

Part of me feels bad for Mayo. I think he's in over his head. How many head coaches have there been, or been successful, without having first been a coordinator? Mayo wasn't even the DC, definitely not the defensive play caller under Bill, and you can be sure Bill, with his background, had his hand in the defense. So Mayo never had the experience of running his own operation. And if he gets fired, what's his future in football? I don't see anything more that a linebackers coaching position and then start climbing up again. Kraft did him wrong by handing him the keys with the limited experience he had. Of course, if he banks his money, he can lead a comfortable middle class lifestyle.

Rhamondre is stealing money, Kyle is stealing money, Davon is stealing money, Jonathan Jones is stealing money. jail in Polk is stealing money. Javon Baker is in witness protection but still getting paid.
Demontry Jacob’s is committing grand larceny. I don’t think Demorio Douglas would pass a GED, I’m not sure about Wolf I feel like Kraft being cheap is holding him back.

Mayo has a full Enron crypto level scam going on im talking him and Covington are doing some Occans 11 Type heist to Kraft wallet.

We named Mayo HC without even winking at Harbaugh or Vrabel is inexcusable,
Bob if you have a crap about sniffing the playoffs in the next 5 years you would right this wrong and go after Ben Johnson or Kellen Moore with a Msck
Truck of money or you would at least bring in 2 of Vrabel, Flores, McDaniels.

Mayos hiring reminds me of a kid out college interviewed and got a district manager position some years back and never even had a paper route prior to that.

Did anyone else notice the massive note cards the coaches were holding up to the players in the first preseason game? I was hoping that was not going to be a regular thing.

Yeah the Pete Carroll look on the sidelines when things didn't go their way was pretty funny.
