Why did the play design have Stevenson there at all? He's doing nothing. Was Maye staring him down waiting for Stevenson to move forward as his outlet?
He wasn’t staring him down. Watch the play. It was designed as a throw to Stevenson in the flat.
Maye looks left to influence the defense, the receivers run off coverage and he turns and throws in one motion. Stevenson didn’t get as far upfield as he should and dropped the ball. Rousseau blow up Jacobs.
Maye did what the play called for.
