It’s amazing how scouts looked at Mitch Trubusky and agreed he was the guy over National Champion DeShaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes.

I see there are some pissed off posters because they won. I’d like a high pick too, but it is no guarantee they will be the savior.

Smith Schuster had his best game.

Tomlin called a terrible game.

TJ Watt needs to find a way to leave the Steelers. He’s rotting there.

Elandon Roberts, one the most hated players during his time in NE, has had a good quiet career since his departure.

It happens every year and will likely happen this year's draft.

We should have kept Mac as the starter if we wanted to secure a top 2 pick.

If Mac had to throw the two passes that Hunter caught for TDs, they would have been picked off 100 times out of a 100. That’s not a commentary on Zappe. That is purely stating that Mac sucks.
That second TD to Hunter was a thing of beauty. Corky‘s back foot could never have delivered such a gem.

Marvin Harrison JR and JJ McCarthy would be a dream.
But Zappe showed he’s a much better QB than Mac.
Zappe played with confidence and swagger,

If the team stayed healthy and Zappe started day 1 we might have been a playoff team.
I know all Zappe did was attack linebackers but he showed poise and made a lot of throws people didn’t think he was capable of making.

He maybe the bridge QB to a Rookie next year just get some damn receivers and a back who can run routes like James White.

been saying forever they need playmakers....well tonight, henry, Parker and Schuster all made plays. then, Ted Johnson just said, and I agree, said Belichick took the foot of the gas and they were lucky to get out of Heinz Field w a win.
funnest half of football in a LONG time
It worked

Nobody is saying Zappe is a long term answer right now. I’m saying he was the answer for having **** ass Mac Jones inflicting endless miserable on us and our team by being our starting quarterback week # 1.

I'm watching the postgame with Zappe and Hunter Henry being interviewed, and I have to give some advice to the young men reading this:

When you're 25 and you're addressing a woman who is 38 (in this case a super hot 38 year old) never ever call her m'am!
It’s important to remain in character.

I never said Zappe was the answer… I simply said those who made declarations he couldn’t possibly be were guessing and might look foolish.

And here we are…

I’m still not convinced Zappe is the answer, I want to see what he does the rest of the way.
Zappe has the poise to play the position that Mac has never had, from what i’ve seen. But his arm looks even weaker than Mac’s, and his accuracy isn’t 100%. To me, he looks like a competent career backup QB that won’t mess things up with a talented team while the starter is injured. But we’ll see, maybe he can improve, maybe the pressure eventually gets to him and breaks him.

I called a college aged girl maam when I was 25 and she ripped my head off.
Never again they could be pushing 100 I’m saying Miss.

He is what his record says he is…. 3-1 record as a starter. Keeps his QB Rating above 100+…. let’s see if he keeps improving.

If he does, nobody should give a damn about a draft pick.

His arm seems much stronger than 10, but accuracy is an issue. Although accuracy 4 starts into a career isn’t the end of the story. Young QBs have accuracy issues because they rush as they adapt to the speed of the game. His accuracy was much better tonight than last week.

I don’t think pressure will break him. Most likely he continues as a serviceable but not exceptional NFL QB until he loses a training camp QB competition a real competent QB. In other words someone better than Corky Jones.

He launched a 50+ yarder on time at the combine. He holds the NCAA record for most yards and TD’s in a single season. He has a stronger arm than Mac, but far more importantly he’s mentally stronger.

One big skill all QB's need ... good footwork ...
Zappe makes the best of his average ability with above average footwork.
Mac knows he needs to get better with this ... yet game after game he has not improved.

Zappe as the franchise QB when he was released and on waivers would be really interesting.
This team built some confidence tonight.
It’s not impossible they win out.

Zap's second half stats and ultra-conservative play-calling were the reason the game was this close.
They bet on the defense being able to hold Trubisky and co. in check instead of taking 2nd half risks. And it worked. I wouldn’t advise of this strategy against kc if we go up early but against pitt? Perfectly fine with the strategy.

If Mac Jones was still playing and won for us tonight I’d be annoyed.

Bailey Zappe throwing 3 TD for a surprise win over the Steelers was pretty sweet. That was some seriously feel good moments in the first half. And we still have a top 3 pick. I’m not convinced we win another game.
