Jarvis Landry’s cap number via a trade would be $15.1m.
Adam Thielen’s cap number via a trade would be $12.65m.
Thielen’s signed through 2024 ($13.65m and $16m in other two years, no guarantees) while Landry’s deal is up after 2022. Landrey will be 30 this year while Thielen will be 32; didn’t realize he was that old. Both of their YPC fell to 11 last year. Not sure if function of talent diminishing or overall use.
Good Day Cousins,
Nice Sunday morning breakfast of pan fried ham and home made buttermilk pancakes laced with Hershey semi sweet chocolate pieces and Vermont maple syrup. That along with coffee and peppermint mocha sweetener. Preceded by orange juice.
Some analogies:
I think the Pats will have to trade for a WR. The crazy FA sampling is too expensive.
Lockett would be a corker and his CAP is decent. It would require a trade. But the Skyhochs are in CAP hell. who knows?
4 Days ago Dakota Randall from NESN suggested a slot match made for the Pats. Evan Engram at 240lbs is a player no nickle back should handle. He's a 4.42 guy in the 40 and a 6.92 cone. He has the quicks. Way faster than Landry. Yeh.......O.K. this guy is a FA so there.
Still think you can force feed Isabella into a slot guy if you trade him for Harry. If he is a "nyet", you can cut Isabella without the stigma of a first round floperoo. He might be a tad cheaper than Harry.
Back to the Thielen versus whomever category. Wes Welker was 30 and 31 his most productive years with the Pats (122 and 118 catches) He was still productive with the Broncos at 32 with 73 catches in only 13 games but had his highest TDs at 10. I am not buying Thielen would not help Mac in 2022 This might be the best stat: Here are some big number to consider. Percentage of catches versus targets. Landry 59%, Enrgam 63% and Thielen 70%. Lockett was 68% and our best receiver Meyer had 65%. .......By the way.....what will blow you away is Bourne had 78%
OK, It's 3rd and 6 . We need a first down. I want Thielen from the slot.
It's not a pure science because Robbie Anderson with the crappy Panther QBs in 2021 was less than 50% but the year before with
Teddy he was almost 70%.
A curve ball? How about a "where did that come from": Tarik Cohen was listed as a RB for Chicago. He was cut. this week. Mostly injured in 2021 and the end of 2020.In 2018 he had 71 receptions for 30 first downs and a catch rate of 78%. In 2019 he had 79 catches for 18 first downs and a catch percentage of 76%. James White has been superb, but this kid has the better stats. Cohen is 4 years younger than White. Why not try Cohen as your slot guy in your had scientist move? Just sayin.........
One a one year deal, Smith-Schuster could be the best value.
I still say Agholar had great chemistry with Carr. I am sending him the LV for DE Clelin Ferrell. He is from a military family Bill admires and he plays the run well. Rush needs work.
