2022 Free Agent Receivers - Will the Patriots Target One?

I wouldn't be averse to bringing Braxton Berrios back (ah, alliteration...) depending on what kind of money he wants
I am still not convinced that's a receiver rather than a cereal
Intriguing player missed last year do to a ACL tear but is now completely recovered. DaeSean Hamilton is a Tough player who loves to go over the middle I can see why the Patriots would be interested.
Ok, I got the opening verses...

How does a Bronco fourth-round post-Paterno Nittany Lion
Okinawan, dropped atop the Rappahannock
In Stafford County, by Fredericksburg, Virginia,
And Quantico, make you want to go "Let's see what you got in ya?"

The young balla in the home of the country's father
got a lot farther by moving the down marker
By hitting a hot market
When the Broncos said "fark it,
Russell doesn't think you look enough like Lockett"

And every day while trades and deals were made,
Never yet paid, he struggled and kept his chin up
Inside, he was longing for a future less chaotic,
With a QB Jack Ruby (Shootin' his shot to be Patriotic)

Well the word got around, this kid might be a bargain,
and returns punts if he's on the roster margin
Try them out a year, (you may see the deal vary)
But you have to take the job from N'Keal Harry

"DaeSean Hamilton
My name is DaeSean Hamilton
And I know I'm only six foot one
But I can play, I can play..."

I’d rather have Berrios then Hamilton. I think Hamilton sux.

None of the receivers that have been rumoured excite me. Think the best we can hope for is bringing one in on a low/mid value contract and then drafting someone on day 2.

I'm making an offer to Allen Lazard that would be impossible for Green Bay to match. Best blocking WR IMO and undervalued catcher too.

NO DaeSean Hamilton

NOT another SCRUB!

Would love him In the second or third.

Dotson YES. But, unless Patriots are in the top 5 of the 2nd round, he will be gone. He may be gone in 1st round as well...

Would LOVE if they draft, DOTSON or METCHIE and Jameson....

I feel like with Mac at QB and Josh gone we may have more success at developing rookie WRs. My logic cause I know I will be flamed for this.
Mac will have more patience and understanding to relate to rookie pass catchers.
Caley will just be figuring out what kind of plays and offense he wants to run and will be more flexible to build the playbook around players strengths.
I choose to be optimistic in regards to the offense.

Learning to run option routes is hard! Very few teams do it in college.

If you want to make the patriots passing game easier on rookie wide receivers, then we need to incorporate more RPO into the offense.

Good Morning Cousins,
Great Saturday morning breakfast of maple bacon and fried eggs with a delicious croissant with butter and blackberry jelly. Plus orange juice and Cafe Mocha blended coffee.

New rumor: There might be a game changer and if I am the Pats, I am taking the flyer......Adam Thielen. 70% of his routes are from the slot. He had a super quick 6.77 3 cone. Why put the youth WR teething pains on Mac for immediate success? Yes, Draft one but developmental. Thielen is 31 but he knows where he is supposed to be. Still has a couple years under contract. He will be a bargain in the long run. 10 TDs and 67 receptions last year in 13 games. In 8 years he has only missed nine games so he is durable.

Beckham turns 30 in November. Julio Jones is 33. Cole Beasley is 32. T.Y Hilton is 32. Devante Adams will be 30 this season. These are some of the WR we as Pats Fans. coveted at some point. Thielen is slightly younger than Gronk and a year younger than Travis Kelce.

Former Pat, Kevin O'Connell as the new HC should take BB's phone call. He wants his own Team an I think he trades Cousins too. The Vikings are CAP strapped. Thielen would be expensive but Beckham's average salary was $18,000,000 per year until this year. Thielan is less. Diggs in Buffalo is more money at $17+mm. They say that Christian Kirk will be $15mm in FA. Allen Robinson will command Thielen's salary in FA.

Welcome back, Cousin.

In politics they say don't compare me to the almighty, compare me to the alternative.

Well, don't compare guys this team is coveting to other guys, compare it all with cap space that can be created. It's not that they take no shots this year, it's more that there is a powerful incentive to build through the draft more often this year

That said, I wouldn't be all in AGAINST a Dotson deal.

Can you explain how that would work? How would running RPOs make the offense easier to learn?

In an RPO offense, receivers run their route and the qb decides to run or pass.
