2022 Free Agent Receivers - Will the Patriots Target One?

I wouldn't be averse to bringing Braxton Berrios back (ah, alliteration...) depending on what kind of money he wants

When Berrios was on the Patriot’s roster, Gunner seemed to be better WR and punt returner than him during training camp practices.

Yeah thought the same thing too Gunner looked good then somehow wasn't able to cut it on a weak lineup.

Intriguing player missed last year do to a ACL tear but is now completely recovered. DaeSean Hamilton is a Tough player who loves to go over the middle I can see why the Patriots would be interested.

I was sure DJ Chark had already signed somewhere?

Even though I really like him I think Allen Robinson will be out of our price range. That said that nine route vertical type Marquez Valdez Scantling shouldn't be Aaron Rodgers held him back.

Belichick should be forbidden from signing any free agent WRs. Punishment for drafting Harry. Most egregiously bad pick in recent memory. Horrific.

How does Kraft feel watching his once multibillion dollar investment crumble? Team becoming a laughingstock. NO PUNTS! Top 3 defense, lol. Harry unable to catch a football. Laughable.
Kraft will laugh all the way to the bank, while folks like you think that the franchise is worth less.

Basically budget WRs with the exception of Robinson...

Chark is one of the biggest free agent WRs left in free agency. Robinson is the top. But other than OBJ and Kirk, there is no other WR ranked higher than Chark on most boards. And Valdez-Scantling isn't that far behind Chark.

The top WRs in free agency have been either franchised or re-signed. The Pats are reportedly in on Amari Cooper who would immediately be shot up to #1 or #2 WR on the market. They are just not looking at OBJ who is on his second ACL tear and wants to go back to the Rams and Kirk who doesn't seem to be a scheme fit.

What top WR free agent am I missing that they should be in on and there are no reports of them looking at?

Gallup, AB, JuJu (slot) are others ahead of Chark, who is a WR#3. Fuller & Crowder (slot) are right there also. Why are we looking at #3-#4 receivers in FAcy? Pay Robinson $16M apy or draft a WR. None of these other guys are going to make much difference over what we already have (incl. Agholor).

If the pats want to improve at WR via free agency, it’s slim pickings. The best WR free agents, Adams, Williams, and Godwin, were all tagged or re-signed with their current team. After that you are looking at Robinson and Chark.

Gallup has a torn ACL and all reports are he likely to re-sign with Dallas (reports the deal is already done and is just being finalized). Obviously, the Pats are not looking at AB under any circumstances and I would say his attitude lowers his value. It is arguable that Smith-Shuster is higher than Chark. It has been a long time since Smith-Shuster had a better season than Chark.

Chark was pretty good in 2019 and 2020. With a good QB, he could be a legitimate #1. Not in Robinson's or Coopers' range, but still a good #1 WR.

And who knows? Some of these guys might be plan Bs if the Pats cannot land Robinson or Cooper. Or the Pats could be looking to sign two top 10 free agent WRs and move on from Agholor and Harry and possibly even Meyers.

He was. Since when is Berrios a guy we care that got away. He’s a jag who caught a few passes on a jv team

Didn't know that Gallup was re-signing w/ DAL (makes sense).

I'd rather stay w/ what we have (minus Harry & let Gunner walk - good luck to him) and draft a young WR (there's plenty good ones). That's obviously not the plan, so what do I know.
