This guy is good, #46

When I did the prediction analysis for SB52, I came away impressed with what Agholor could do if given a chance, but it didn't seem like Philly was keen on doing that.

I'm cautiously optimistic about Agholor here.

$13m a year for Nelson Agholor

I think he's more of an actual "threat" than any WR we have on our roster. He's not a possession guy. He's a deep threat.

WTF.. $13M/APY for AGHOLOR???

Agholor... Looked like crud in Philly but lit it up last year in Vegas. I don't put a lot of stock into what Philly does... If he comes at a decent price tag, I like it. He has deep speed. If he can produce there even some of the time and stretch the field a little, it'll help so much.

Edit: $13M a year, so... not so decent. Geez, that's a lot of money for a dude with 1 good season... If he keeps it up he's worth the price, but if not it'll be a really awful signing. Maybe it's incentive heavy though.

"We couldn't be bothered to pay Tom Brady $25m a year for two years, though"

NFL Nation take: "Is it a true coming-out party if no fans are there to partake and said guest of honor does not crack 1,000 yards receiving? When it comes to Agholor, absolutely. True, he was a first-round pick by the Eagles in 2015, but he never lived up to that draft standing in Philadelphia. Signed to a one-year, $1,047,500 prove-it deal by Las Vegas, Agholor became quarterback Derek Carr's most efficient wideout with a career-high 896 yards receiving on 48 catches for a career-best 18.7 yard-per-catch average that ranked second in the NFL among pass-catchers who had at least 25 receptions.
"Sure, he still had the occasional drop, but Carr had a 100.5 passer rating when targeting Agholor, who also had 15 catches of at least 20 yards. His six TDs of at least 20 yards were the second-most in the league. Signed more for depth, Agholor became the Raiders' under-the-radar deep threat. And as Carr himself said late in the season, 'We've got to pay that man, and get him back.' But will Las Vegas pony up?" -- Paul Gutierrez, Raiders reporter

That's what I saw...high yards per catch potential. Actually thought he'd kill us in SB52 because he had been so underused to that point.

Jaguars with a signing:

If it's low guaranteed money, it may work. If he can't improve on last year, and the first year doesn't come close to $13m, and the guaranteed money is low, then cut him.

Per usual, Deus confuses the situation for a time when the Pats were extremely tight on the cap.

People need to chill out with these headline figures. Firstly, we should just be happy that Bill is being aggressive to fill some of the holes. And secondly, most of the deals will be heavily incentivised and will seem much more reasonable once we get the details.
