Wednesday’s transaction wire shows that the Saints have terminated Cook’s contract. The procedural move ends his run with the team after two seasons and the contract was structured to leave $2 million of dead money on the cap for 2021.
He stinks.Damn, was hoping Tyrell Williams would be a target for us. But that contract is a little high for a guy who didn't play at all last year I guess.
why second guessing? Cook made 15/m in two years and gets to hit free agency again, while he still has/should have value...Saints release Jared Cook, Josh Hill - ProFootballTalk
If you're Cook and Matthews, you've got to be doing some serious second guessing about your decisions a couple of years ago.
Umm.. His deal was set up to specifically be a two year deal if he had success.. Why would he be questioning his decision? He got paid and was the #1 TE for NO for 2 years..Saints release Jared Cook, Josh Hill - ProFootballTalk

Another 30-something TE. How about the team getting younger. Enough with these dinosaurs. We might as well call Ben Watson since he still lives in Boston.
Yeah but he is tall, fast, can catch and wouldn't cost 15M a year. I would rather have Golladay, but he is a decent bargain signing, at least before the Lions gave him 6M a year lol.He stinks.
Jared Cook interest anyone on the TE front?

His fumble cost the Saints a trip to the NFCCG.

Still don't understand how we ended up winning some of those games. Arizona, Jete, Vegas all were weird games. 4-11 would have got us to top 6-7 I believe.3 less wins we would be in a much better spot to draft our QB of the future.
Belichick should draft Lance and Sign a Vet.
Would love to see a trade up for Wilson but I’d be cool with Lance.

The Giants have, as expected, released receiver Golden Tate, per multiple reports.
Tate’s release creates $8.5 million in cap and cash savings for the Giants. However, they’ll take a $4.7 million cap charge to get him off the books, arising from his remaining signing bonus allocation of $2.35 million per year in 2021 and 2022.
That Diggs deal paid dividends for the Bills...All FAs (Humphries, Cook, Tate) that turned down Pats in 2019 have been released except Beasley who had a great year.
I think given how many teams are in cap hell, significantly in cap hell. I think its inevitable, but don't get me wrong, I was shocked at that contract.Idk that Watt contract for a 30+ yo with an injury history makes me wonder how many bargains or the extent of the bargains. I'll believe it when I see it. Can't wait.
