but to lose out on Lawrence is unconscionable!!!!
Lawrence is probably the best qb since elway!!! Generational talent stuck in Jacksonville for darnold. That has to hurt all the way down to the core!!!!

Not really. I still like Sam.

Apparently others do as well.

From a CBS mock draft a few days ago suggesting the Jets could still trade Sam for a 1st (even after his cheap years are almost gone). This is discussing their late 1st round pick...
The quarterback position is settled with Trevor Lawrence. In an ideal world, Joe Douglas would be able to add a third first-round pick in a trade of Sam Darnold. New York has several holes to fill in their streets and on their roster. Derion Kendrick would be a cornerstone cornerback but the offensive line needs to improve for Lawrence to have sustained success.

Don't forget the Jets have a TON of cap space. Seems they really weren't trying this season. Perhaps decided to not waste money on the "covid" season?

And plenty of draft capital.

I'm psyched to see what next year's roster looks like.

Personally I'd get Sewell to pair with Becton on the edges. And even use the later 1st rounder on a Guard or Center.

Then use some of that $$$ to bring in a real good veteran olineman or 2.

Build a massive wall of talent.

If that Jags team takes care of their OL with the pick they got from the Rams in the Ramsey trade and selects Lawrence, they will have a very quick turnaround on offense.

Jets fans should be feeling awful because they have a very real possibility they’ll win against the Patriots with Cam under center. Unfortunate but that’s the only time I’ll be rooting for the Jets over the Pats. Better draft pick and confirms the Jets won’t get the #1.

Why was Luck worth it ?

There aren’t many 1st-2nd-3rd overall QBs that worked out, percentage-wise. And the fact people keep referring to Luck « as a success » boggles. A playoff INT machine that got all the way up to « blown out in the AFFCG ». Wow.

Mahomes was 10th. Wilson was 3rd round.

I’d just like to say congratulations to the Jets on a true culture-defining win. Sure, you’re going to miss out on the perhaps the most complete quarterback to come out in the draft since maybe Peyton Manning and your coaching staff and front office will be reshuffled anyway, but I’m sure there will be a Ryan Leaf waiting there for you with the 2nd overall pick in Justin Fields! The most important thing is the culture. C-U-L-T-U-R-E. Culture. This win will echo through the halls of eternity like the Spartans standing up to the Persians. In fact, I hear poets are even writing and singing about this win as we speak.

I dont think Cam starts the last two games and he may not play at all. I don’t think he’s coming back to Foxborough next year.

I think many people think of Lawrence as a can't miss prospect in the lines of Elway, Manning, Aikman....I haven't seen him enough to make that opinion yet, but the one or two times I have seen him, he definitely looks the part.

Honestly there is a good chance they don’t draft a QB. Darnold is still a project but the difference in risk between him and those guys isn’t so big. They are almost better trading that pick for a haul now.
