I’d like to see Wynn replace Mason at guard. Brown-Thuney-Andrews-Wynn-Cannon would compete as one of the best OLs out there.

You may get your wish. There is no way BB pays Mason top dollar after this year.
Any offer more than a compensatory 3rd round pick in 2020 will be considered.

Yeah, though it's way early to be making such calls.

As it stands right now, obviously there are going to be some very tough cuts among skill-position players at the end of Camp, especially among WRs.

While reports seem to suggest that Dorsett has made significant progress over last season, neither Berrios nor McCarron have proven much of anything in terms of their WR ability OR punt returning ability at the NFL level.

The Pats certainly seem to need someone besides Edelman who can return punts (rather than FC every time), but it's a question of overall team value in the end, as always.

Agree. Exploiting Edelman as a punt returner might be disastrous in its result. His main duty is to be a slot WR. Speaking of Dorsett I was talking many times that he would be very useful player after Archer's departure. Of course I do not mean Cooks' production ( or maybe ) but Dorsett is destined to be a very competitive in the Pats system especially because if his speed. Being on the same page with Brady during the camp sounds optimistic.

Mason is undersized at 6’1. He struggles at time in the pass game, and of course, he was the one responsible for Brandon Graham’s strip sack in the super bowl. Just because he’s the best interior OL right now, does not mean that Wynn can be better. Wynn is 6’3 and more powerful.

If you're looking to replace one of the guards w/ Wynn, I'd look towards Thuney before Mason.

If Wynn's good enough to start at IOL, you play him at LG, because Mason is better than Thuney, and because you want to keep Wynn on the left side, if possible. This isn't rocket science.

And pointing to one play in the Super Bowl to decide Thuney v. Mason, rather than looking at their play over the entire season, is silly.

Good to hear how Bentley showed up, even if it was just drills for the second team. Competition for Roberts is certainly a good thing as I’m hoping he’s knocked off the roster. Sounded like an excellent day for Harmon, too. Unfortunately, Michel still had issues with fumbling. He’s a threat at the position but he’s not going to see the field if the ball security issues continue.

Fwiw Roberts had a nice stuff in one of the goal lines plays today. But we know he's a good down hill run stuffer with him it's everything else that sux.

Hightower and KVN are your best two then Marquise Flowers and Roberts are probably next up. Really ugly depth there.

Scar knows a helluva a lot more about football than I ever will. Mason is a bit undersized for my liking though. Wynn is a bit taller.

Mason was their best run blocking Oline guy last season and at least adequate in pass protection.

I'd say he was the second best lineman only behind Cannon.

I am surprised that Van Noy can’t be that cover guy at LB. Maybe he can get better.

Why would you replace the strongest of the two guards? Wouldn’t it make more sense to move Wynn into thuneys spot?

- WR depth as day 3 of camp looks to be:

Edelman (Lock & Suspended), Hogan (Lock), Patterson (Lock, cuz of PR/KR ability...anything on offense is gravy), Slater (Lock, Ace Gunner, and yes..counting him here d%#*!@t), Matthews (Near lock cuz' plays in slot and is big bodied), and Dorsett (On the bubble, but has speed). That would be our 6 WR's as of week 5. For the first 4 weeks...we likely will carry one of Britt (bubble, hurt now, big bodied), Berrios (bubble, rookie, could slide on PS, PR) , and/or Mitchell (bubble, oft injured, showed promise in the past).

- Hope Trey Flowers is OK, want to see more from Rivers, happy that Clayborn was first on the field, and loving what I am hearing about Wise...but sounds like he got a jump on a rookie though...and only 1st day with pads.

Considering Wynn can likely play anywhere out 6th OL could be the backup for all 5 plus the 3rd TE.

Slater isn’t a WR so he doesn’t really count.
The depth chart is muddled because there are a lot guys competing.
PreEdelman we may only keep 4, and after he comes back it will be 5 max so these guys are competing for 4 jobs

There are many ways to slice that into 4 but I think we have to be careful about elevating or dropping a guy because of a good/bad day or minor injury.

DE with health and young player progress could turn from a thin group last year to a deep group again.

Flowers-clayborn-wise-rivers could be the same kind of group.

Cannon didn't play last season

He did until he was IR'd. But my main point was that Mason is one of their best Oline and I'd only rank Cannon above him. When healthy of course.
