They signed Jones to a tw9 year deal, I guess i5 was more like two weeks. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Gillislee signed, and maybe Jones to the PS.

We have cap room if we want.

from Miguel,
Please note that I will soon be doing a two-part series that will be answering these two questions:
1.) Why is the Patriots cap space number so low?
2.) What can the Patriots do to increase their cap space?
=======
There is lots that we can do, presuming that we give the player a small sweetener for accelerating his compensation. Gilmore seems most likely, freeing up over $5M in cap space.

We'll hear from Miguel, but I think that the top candidates for restructures are Brady, Gilmore, McCourty, Gronkowksi, and Hightower. We could free up $20M. Of course, we would have to account for it in future years, spread over the each of the contracts. In addition, monies could be freed up through extensions, Gostkowski comes to mind.

Yup but no cap room.

I thought Reddick might have hard time adjusting to NFL (but also thought Arizona is one of the better chances) . so this sounds rather quick..

No cap room (unless Phelger is right and the Cap is Indeed Crap), but if we did I would take Both of those guys in a Heartbeat.

Reddick would be less of a problem. Bucannon is not realistic and would require a lot of restructuring for what would end up a one year rental.

Reddick would be much easier to acquire. Also, he fits more of the mold of what we would be looking for. I like Buchanon, but we already have 3 pretty good safeties.

Buchannon has actually played more snaps at OLB than at Safety - and very well, too.

He's pretty much unaffordable, but I think he'd fit well in the Pats schemes as an LB/Safety hybrid.

End of an error. Think Scar can work his magic??

...keep him FAR away from any Goats.

Its interesting that they are willing to trade him. Its not as if he has a bad rookie year by any means. Maybe not the expected impact as a 13th pick, but he was a late riser who needed to adjust, what did they expect?! He also had a good game the other night. Seems pretty pre-mature to give up on him so early. Unless they want something crazy in return for him. I mean I would easily send a late 4th for him. Also a 7th for Bucannon.
