Nothing wrong with considering putting in a claim for him, then IRing him with 2012 in mind.

Yeah, I don't know why there's so much negativity towards the guy in this thread. Have people looked at our DE depth chart if we play 4-3 or OLB depth chart if we play 3-4? He's worth a shot IMO. There's really no reason not to take a chance on him.

Even if the guy is banged up and needs time to rehab (which I haven't heard that he's injured again), there's nothing wrong with IRing him for 2012.

This guys was considered one of the better pure pass rushers in the 2010 draft and fell in the draft due to concerns over his knee. A lot of people thought Sapp was a steal in the 5th for the Eagles. I liked him as a speed rushing OLB for this team. I know a lot of people said he wasn't strong enough to set the edge or to two gap, but the guy flew around the field. He was rangy, he had a lightning quick first step off the line, and he was a good speed rusher. He did all of this while playing at 75% (according to himself) because of a bad knee surgery. He had to get stronger and become a more versatile pass rusher, but he's got enough upside to warrant a look.

I was under the impression doctors botched his knee surgery when he was still in college (Auburn?), and his skills have unfortunately never been remotely close since then.

Clemson University.

Marion Jones and FLorence Griffith-Joyner can't set the edge or two gap, either, and they can fly around the field even faster than Sapp. And they have good knees.

I wonder how confident some of these guys are at this point in getting signed to a deal.

Twitter/EvanSilva

Notably still unsigned: LB Kirk Morrison, DE Antwan Odom, RB Mike Hart, DE Stylez White, OT Jared Gaither, LB Matt Roth, LB Stephen Cooper.

More FAs unsigned: LB Channing Crowder, DT Tony Brown, WR Mark Clayton, G Brian Waters, CB Kelvin Hayden, LB Lofa Tatupu, G Derrick Dockery.

Im surprised that Lofa Tatupu is teamless until now...

Is that list accurate?
How can there be any free agent DE's the Patriots have not signed?

Only recently released obviously

Shayne Graham released by the Redskins. He missed two field goals for Washington Friday not, and they cut him.

I figured with the five-yard kickoff rule change he would land somewhere, but at this point he's probably going to have to rely on an injury or another kicker choking badly to get a roster spot somewhere.

Can he rush the passer? Sorry, it's a habit.

We were lucky to obtain a kicker the caliber of Graham last mid season...he was a solid addition for us when Gost went down and I appreciated his efforts...I wish him good luck in his endeavors.

How bad a QB do you have to be to get cut by the Colts?
