I'll have the Texans pick up in a few. Gotta restack my draft board.

The Texans secondary continues to get overhauled with the addition of 6'4 safety Robert Sands. He has the size to cover tight ends over the middle and affect passes in his area.

Wow, thats a tall safety, he'll be good at covering TEs like you said.

I picked Herzlich. Everyone knows his story, it's a risky pick, but it is the fourth round. Along with his intangibles, if he can work his way back into his former self on the field, he will be a great linebacker.

I'll make the Lions pick in about 30 minutes. I sent that GM a PM like i did everyone else about the weekend and have not heard anything back. Also we had to make the 3rd round pick as well.

Mmm yes a bit of a risky pick. It all depends on if he can get healthy and stay that way.

Broadway Joe- I'm back from work, so I can post my own picks for the rest of the day.

Ok GM's I'll post a selection for Jacksonville shortly. I believe Meggett forgot he asked for that team so lets get going again.

That selection number should be 114 edit your selection Meggett. Check your PM's are you receiving any?

yes, just edited the post now. when i made the pick you (or somebody else) had already picked for jacksonville (jordan cameron) and then when i went to the last page it said jacksonville was back on the clock. so i thought we were at my 2nd pick and i missed out on the first one..anyway, no big deal. ready to go...but i fixed it.

Way to go Thank You.

Whew I was sweating my Bob Sanders replacement in Tyler Sash SS Iowa not making it to me after the mini run on Safeties in the 3rd. I almost took him over Marcus Gilbert but am glad I waited. 3rd round value in the 4th is always nice.

At the half:

Philadelphia Eagles
23 - Nate Solder OT Colorado
54 - Curtis Brown CB Texas
85 - William Rackley OG Lehigh
104 - Terrell McClain DT South Florida
120 - Buster Skrine CB Chattanooga
149
153
229
237
240

Post mortem:
So far I really like the way the picks worked out for the Eagles. Hindsight being what it is, I would probably have selected Muhammed Wilkerson with pick 23 if I had known that I could get a guard like Rackley in the 3rd (with OG being a greater need). I like doubling up on Cornerbacks. This was a black hole for the Eagles with the injury to Hobbs, and with the sub packages used so frequently I have no problem using my late 4th on a nickelback (though many of you might question the choice). 5 Picks to go and I am content...

Gonna think this pick through a bit with lunch but the Pats will make this selection super soon.

The Eagles draft has been quite solid.

I'm fairly happy with my Colts draft so far as well with only two picks left to go.

22 - Torrey Smith WR/KR Maryland
53 - Mikel LeShoure RB Illinois
87 - Marcus Gilbert OT Florida
119 - Tyler Sash SS Iowa
152 -
188 -

At the half:

San Francisco –

7 - Patrick Peterson CB LSU
45 - Orlando Franklin G Miami
76 - Ricky Stanzi QB Iowa
108 - K.J Wright OLB Miss State
115 - Kelvin Sheppard ILB LSU
141
174
190
211
231
239
250

Post Mortem:
Obviously, I inherited the pick of Peterson in the 1st round so I shouldn't take credit... Just as obviously, there is no way that I wouldn't have selected Peterson. Regrets? Looking back at the way the draft developed, I might have selected Kaepernick/ Ponder in the 2nd, and Clint Boling in the 3rd. Drafting is much easier in hindsight. I wasn't intentionally doubling upon LBs in the 4th, that was just the way the draft broke for me. I am not unhappy with the selections. Both should be plug and play additions to the defense, and I feel were solid values where they were selected. I had hoped for some picks that would add more suddenness/ explosiveness to the D, but that didn't work out. Both Wright and Sheppard will add a ton of tackles, and both Lawson and Spikes are pending FAs, so they do fill a need... 7 picks to go.

Very solid picks. You have been drafting well.
