2011 Mock Draft Game Discussion

that's twice now

perhaps we should inquire about a new GM for Cleveland?

We will get a new GM for Cleveland. We're only interested in GM's that want to participate and have interest in this draft. Not really finished with 3 rounds and 2 duplicate picks already that shows me that this GM does not care and he said so himself. Don't worry about the 4th round forward patriotscpfc you will be replaced. The rules state we will not tolerate anyone holding up the draft and this weekend we plan on getting in as many picks as we possibly can.

I have the Texans selection will post shortly get ready Irish Hooligan you will be up after that.

Snuck it in Joe so nevermind that PM. I need my next guy to fall now to the next pick and maybe I will start getting liked. I really like Gates hope that I am not alone in that, let me have it mates.

Another 3rd round WR that wont help the team at all first year.....

Nah I like Gates, he has a very high ceiling. He could be the next Mike Wallace or Brandon Tate.

Gates will do something in this league, but I don't really like him as a fit for the Pats. I'm really hoping to get a taller WR.

I sent a PM to BroadwayJoe with the 49'ers pick. Goodnight y'all.

Gates is 6' tall. That's a veritable giant for a Pats receiver. ^_^ Besides with blazing fast speed he'll create windows where height won't matter. Mike Wallace is no taller than 6' himself.

I like the Pats draft so far even despite the fact I think Aldon Smith is a big gamble that early in the 1st.

I'm glad to get House with the Texan's 3rd rounder. Their secondary stunk, and I could have easily gone for House in Round 2, but decided to gamble for a CB to fall to me cos they needed a NT and Paea was the last top rated one left on my board. House ran a 4.32 40 at his Pro Day so speed shouldn't be a problem for this cornerback.

I like that House pick there. He seems studly, it is really tough to tell. He is the first legitimate football player the Aggies have ever had that was worth watching, but unfortunately we are so bad at NMSU that people avoided him like the plague, which didn't stop him from being productive.

I think the Mike Wallace parallel is fair, but I'd still like to have a taller WR who can go up and get the ball. Gates has short arms, and while his speed may have helped him a lot in college to put up big stats against division II opponents, [imo] we need a receiver who do more then outrun the other team.

Like House I'm surprised Burton lasted this long. Lions have a clear need there so seemed like an easy choice.

and he forwarded it to me thanks!

Stanzi reminds me lot of Drew Brees. Very scrappy kid with good leadership qualities.

I have to say that I am surprised that so many QBs have gone already. This is not a great class for them.

I can't say that I disagree w/ you DB. After inheriting the 49er's I thought that I could get Kaepernick with the 3rd round pick. If I missed, I would pick Stanzi in the 4th (I just couldn't imagine Harbaugh going through this draft with out picking up a QB). Obviously, that did not happen. I probably took Stanzi about 20 picks too early, but I don't have any other QBs with better than 6th round grade on my list. The 49er's also have 12 picks, so I can afford a little gamble, than go best player available through the rest of the draft. Anyway, that was my thinking (and I really do like Stanzi, I just think that he needs a lot of schooling on footwork, etc after seeing him in SR bowl practices).

I think 4 will end up going in the first round, (Newton, Gabbert, Dalton, Mallet) two early and two late with teams trading up to get them. I can then see two more going in the second round (Locker, Ponder) from there things will probably cool off until the 4th round.

There will be teams that will take them that don't need QB's but are getting value for the future similar to how Aaron Rodgers, Kevin Kolb etc were selected.

Ok I'll give this GM 30 minutes and then I'll make the selection if they haven't.

That's just it. NONE of the QBs in this draft are rated as well as Rodgers or Kolb were. Yet, people seem to have this idea that teams are going to be falling all over themselves to get one. I just don't see it happening.
